Great to learn the history of how Soth came to be!

The reader was very good. Nice inflection and used different voices for characters. thoroughly enjoyed this.

good story! great read!

I thoroughly loved the story! as a long-term reader of dragonlance, I was extremely excited to be able to read the story of the death knight. it is a very well written story, and I had difficulty putting it down. there are some slight inconsistencies, with other books, but these are in fact very minor. they do not attract from the story in any way. as a blind reader, I am often critical of audiobook readers, but I have to give two thumbs up to this one. I highly recommend this story, to anyone, who is a fan of dragonlance.

A decent way to tell the story of Soth

The story of the fall of Lord Soth, told in a progressively darkening manner. If you ever wondered about the origin story of the death knight, this is the book for you.

It's quite good.

I enjoyed it. It's a good haunting tale. Soth is one of the more interesting characters of Dragonlance. He's very multi faceted and that's what draws you in.

strong narration performance, but story weak

If you want to know Soths backstory it's worth it, even though everything in this books is so so very cliche. The story and characters are sub-par, the narrator is great though

Classic but gauche

Book is only worth reading if you’re willing to step back from years of social efforts to untangle some goofy racism, and REALLY want to know more about Soth and the Cataclysm.

Additionally, the performer does a very good job with what he’s given, it’s just that there are some character voice inconsistencies that made some parts a little confusing, at least briefly.

The writing itself is pretty bog-standard, with some laughably bad racism thrown in at points.

Great Narrator and Pacing

Preparing to run the Shadow if the Dragon Queen l. I'm a Chroncles reader from the 90s and this is the first of a few attempt where I was pulled back into Krynn.

Was just what I needed!

Loved the slightly peaceful beginnings of this proud warrior, only to have it all stripped away from his own inactions. Great story, and voice-acted well. 👍👍

Loved It

Due to the upcoming Dragonlance book for the 5th edition of Dungeons and Dragons I wanted to explore the beginnings of Lord Soth's story. Soth has quite the similarities with Darth Vader to which I can infer inspired the character of Lord Soth when the book was first released.
