Critic reviews

Be warned . . . once you make friends with Wimsey you'll want to get better acquainted (Christopher Fowler)
The books chronicling Wimsey's adventures remain models of their kind (Barry Forshaw)
In time of dire and immediate trouble, on might well call upon a Sherlock Holmes for a quick solution to one's trials. But for the balm that reassures one about surviving the vicissitudes of life, one could do no better than to anchor onto a Lord Peter Wimsey. (Elisabeth George)

I enjoy the stories but apparently I’ve read them all from different sources previously, so no discoveries. The narrator was not great, choosing weird squeaky intonations with some occasional mispronunciations or incorrect emphasis.

Nice to revisit the stories, found nothing new and not great narration

I had already read most of the stories so I was worried that I couldn’t enjoy it as much especially with the narrator. Smth about her voice was a bit off. But I still was spellbound most of the way even though I knew the endings.

Managed to be enthralled

The narrator is awful. I am usually humbled by the skill of these readers but this lady spoiled the stories for me. If you cannot do an American - or British - accent then please don’t try because the result is always worse than leaving it to the listener’s imagination. I could not get into the stories themselves s o can’t comment on the content. Maybe you don’t mind the weird voices.
