#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • Find out what happens after Disney Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas in the first book of the hit series that’s told from the perspective of Sally, the determined rag doll and love of Jack Skellington!

And don’t miss the sequel, Hour of the Pumpkin Queen, available now!

Jack and Sally are “truly meant to be” . . . or are they?

Following a whirlwind courtship with her true love, Jack Skellington, Sally the rag doll has officially stepped into the role of Pumpkin Queen. But while she adores Jack with every inch of her fabric seams, she can’t quite say the same for her new job. Cast into the spotlight and tasked with all sorts of royal duties, she starts to wonder if all she’s done is trade her captivity under Dr. Finkelstein for a different cage.

Then, while exploring the Hinterlands beyond the holiday doors, Sally stumbles upon a long-hidden entrance to another ancient realm called Dream Town—and unknowingly sets a chain of sinister events into motion. Before she knows it, both her future as Pumpkin Queen and the future of Halloween Town itself have been thrust into jeopardy.

Can Sally discover what it means to be true to herself and save the town she’s learned to call home? Or will her future turn into her worst . . . well, nightmare?

I really enjoyed this book. I definitely made me want to get the next one that follows behind it. The details were amazing.

It was awesome to listen about the world connected to Halloween Town. I’ve always wanted to know what the other doors lead to, I am not disappointed. Great for fans of the movie.

Great world building

This audiobook is about 6.5 hours long but I'd wager that only half of that time is meaningful plot or dialog. The other half is Sally just thinking - endless worry and introspection, literally hours of it. If you're excited to see more of Halloween Town and the characters in it, you may be disappointed, as we see little of the town or it's residents except at the very beginning and very end.

The ending was nice and now that we're done I don't regret listening to it, but be prepared to slog through some tedious introspection in the middle. I wish they'd trimmed it down by an hour or so (out of the hundreds of titles I've listed to, this is only the second one that I wish was shorter).

Good start and end but too much filler

I loved this natural feeling continuation of the movie! The narrator brought life to the characters I’ve been familiar with since childhood and the author did an excellent job of continuing the mannerisms and quirks of old characters while introducing tons of new ones! Storyline was fast paced and a credit to the OG movie. Enjoyed it immensely, and I hope there are more in the future.

Loved it!

The story kept true to the characters and gave more background. It was also very descriptive and made you feel you were at each town

Great continuation!

I really don’t like how much filler is in the book. It’s mostly Sally going on tangents or us listening to her inner monologues. There isn’t much progression in the story because of that.
When the story actually progresses those parts are really good, but those bits last like two seconds and then it’s back to Sally being insecure about something.
I’m also not a big fan of the narrators voice for Sally.. but it could also be because of the dialog.

Too much filler
