pleasant
Just finished the Blossom Street & Midnight Son's series and wanted to venture in the Heart of Texas. DM's novel's always has a adventure but calming to her stories. so far this new venture has not disappoint my listening pleasure.

This story warmed my heart!
I wanted to learn more about the ghost town! Did Richard run off or did revenge find him? Just an exciting hint to the next story.

had to struggle finishing this bc it moved excruciatingly slow in parts. jumped ahead in a few spots.

Heartwarming stories
There were a few times when it seemed to drag a bit, but I think that was simply because I wanted to hurry up and find out what was going to happen next. I thought the narrator did a good job with the different voices. I am going to purchase the next book in this series.

Had to turn up the speed
I have read a lot of other macombers books. I usually like them but this series is taking me a while to get into. The narration was sooo slow I had to se up the speed. It is also like when you know someone is trying to disguise their voice and it sounds very unnatural. She did very well with some but the main character Savannah was irritating. I know from experience it sometimes takes a bit for the characters voices to take shape so I am hoping this is the case as I have the whole series.
