Publisher's summary

When the truth is harder to believe than disguise.

Drugged and betrayed in his own household, Fitzwilliam Darcy makes his escape from a forged compromise that would see him unhappily wed. Dressed as a footman, he is welcomed into one of London’s unknown neighborhoods by a young lady who is running out of time and running for her life.

Deciding to hide in plain sight, Miss Elizabeth Bennet dodges the expectation to marry the man of her mother’s dreams. When the insolent footman she “found” refuses to leave her side until they can uncover a solution to their respective dilemmas, the two new acquaintances treat themselves to a holiday, experiencing the best of what Regency England has to offer.

Based on Jane Austen’s Pride & Prejudice, can two hard-headed characters with kind hearts discover the truth behind the disguise? Enjoy the banter, humor, and growing affection as Mr. Darcy and Miss Elizabeth have the best day of their lives, and discover that they just might find love and romance while on a London Holiday. This audiobook is appropriate for all ages.

I love it

I really love the story. I've always enjoyed Miss Zimmerman's narrative, as I did on this occasion as well but chapter 16 is missing. The story jumps from chapter 15 to chapter 17.

A Fun JAFF Twist

Don’t let the cover art scare you away.

Without giving too much away, Darcy is alerted too late that a plot is in place to find him in a compromising position, aided by a doctored drink meant to make him fall asleep only to find a young lady in his bed in the morning. He is barely able to stagger out of his London Townhouse, dressed in disguise, before passing out on the street. This begins a roller coaster of events and misconceptions as he fights to regain him name, while not being able to tell anyone who he really is.

Stevie Zimmerman once again using her skills to bring all of the characters to life is the icing on this delicious cake.

A favorite!

Great fun with this P&P Var! Love Stevie as Narrator!

I love listening to Stevie Zimmerman and any P&P variation, but I absolutely love how this one is focused mostly on William and Elizabeth!!!! Hopefully more like those and please always have Stevie as narrator on audible!

Adorable Variation with great narration

This was entertaining and adorable. After many P&P Variations I've read, it was a refreshing change of pace. I really appreciated the lack of Wickham as an antagonist (or as a character at all, really), and the alternate plotline was a lot of fun.

Stevie Zimmerman did a great job, as usual, and at this point I've decided to avoid any JAFF audiobooks that aren't her narrations.

Overall, worth my time and money. Thanks!

Excellent!!

I laughed, I cried; I experienced despair, frustration, and suspense. I loved the twist on our two beloved characters as they fell in love in a totally unexpected setting. A truly enjoyable story from Lady Clarkston.

Romantic story, fun banter

It was funny and romantic and even though some of the other characters strayed from the original ones, the main ones stayed true.
It's called a romantic comedy because that's exactly what it is. It's cheesy, but the fun kind.
The epilogue was a bit toi much on that side for my taste and I found it an unnecessary addition.
