About this listen

This is a short novel about a young tea garden manager named Rajib, who enjoys solitude and writes poetry under a pen name. He meets a young college lecturer named Antora, who comes from a big city and appreciates a solitary environment. They live close to each other and eventually fall in love. Antora is unaware that Rajib is her favorite poet, as he writes under a pen name. However, she hesitates to rush into a relationship, but Rajib loves her so much. She had some untold story that she did not want to tell him. That is why she did not get as close as Rajib. But Rajib changes her promise that she will never fall in love. Antora loves Rajib, but her past life prevents her from falling in love. When Antora told Rajib that she had been previously married for just a month, Rajib remained silent and said nothing. Antora realized that Rajib only showed her sympathy, not love, prompting her to make an ardent decision. Sympathy cannot make someone happy for a long time.

Bindi, the cook who prepared meals for Antora and Rajib, played a crucial role in their relationship. Her influence extended beyond the kitchen as she became the bridge connecting the two.

When Rajib arrived at the bungalow two days later to express his decision to marry Antora anyway, he found Bindi in tears on the balcony. Antora had made a life-altering decision: she resigned from her job, left the area, and wrote a letter to Rajib expressing they would never meet again. Rajib stood there, holding the letter, the twilight casting a solemn light on the bungalow's sky. A surge of water flocked to Rajib's eyes, and nothing but a big void horizon was in front of him.
