Publisher's summary

When Hunter Reed’s longtime plans go awry following her college graduation, she has two choices. She can wallow in her grief, or she can get away from Utah and the people who broke her.

Determined to escape the shadow of her parents and make it on her own terms, she lands her dream job at an up-and-coming graphic design company in Portland, packs her bags, and hits the road.

No sooner has Hunter arrived, than the adventures begin. With a new apartment and learning her job comes with a private office - and a handsome boss who is her age - she settles in straight away, befriending neighbors and coworkers, alike. Welcomed into the fold, the transition is smooth and easy. Almost too easy.

Just when she gets comfortable with how perfect her life is going, an unforgettable Elvis at a costume party will make Hunter forget everything she was taught about propriety, leading to a night of drunken abandonment and dangerous encounters that will set in motion a web of little white lies which could undo everything she has worked so hard for.

Although Hunter finds herself facing two choices again, this time, her heart is on the line.

heroine has double standards

The author did a great job making me dislike the heroine eith her lies of omission (real identity) but not tolerating anyone else who does the same. Double standards! Yep! Not okay! A rebound relationship that seems solid until Hunter shows her profound immaturity and over reacts about a non issue. SMH to a concussion
Wth? I had empathy for Xander because Hunter led him on emotionally. Not cool. I like karma , and was happy Hunter found some when she rashly left the dinnet party she ruined. Payback!! The narrator was okay, but she struggled here and there . I frequently detected a strong accent (that didn't fit the story) at the end of many words which was a distraction. I voluntarily listened to this and am giving an honest review.

Endearing love story

Little White Lies is an endearing romantic novel. I feel it was a bit rushed but cute to listen to. The narrator, you can tell had an Aussie (I think) accent which she did a decent job trying to hide but it definitely showed in certain words, which throw me off to where the story took place. Overall I think story was good but again rushed and the performance could’ve been better. I would recommend for a light listen.

Wonderful Story!

The story was fun and interesting. Not what I normally see coming from this author. Still it’s a wonderful story of friendship and learning. There are elements of surprise in here as well as a hot sexy Elvis. Which brings me to the lovable characters in this story. They are compassionate and attentive. I’m not sure who would be my fav. But I really liked Zander and wonder if he could get his own story 🙂. I loved the idea of them all working and hanging out together. I mean it could cause problems with arrangements.

I did listen to this on audio. Nicole Payten-Betts is The narrator. She did struggle a bit throughout but overall it was nicely done.

I enjoyed a few elements

I didn’t especially liked this book, though I enjoyed a few elements.

Notably, the characters. Not everything about them–Hunter’s reaction to little lies, Braden’s propension to fall in love lightning fast–but they were kind of interesting, and their interactions were entertaining. I especially loved the friendship between Hunter and Xander, even more than the main couple.

Other elements, I didn’t care for, or didn’t understand why they were there in the first place. Like, what does the fact that Hunter’s father is a celebrity bring to the plot? And the attempted assault at the beginning was treated poorly in my opinion.

I would probably have enjoyed it more as an ebook though. The narrator rushed the reading, without much feelings, and there were a few mistakes that were kept.

Little White Lies

This was a fun story with likable characters and an interesting storyline. While it was somewhat predictable, there were some twists and turns I didn't see coming. I enjoyed this story and am looking forward to listening to the next book in the series as soon as it comes out in audio. Nicole Payten-Betts did a good job narrating the story but there were some editing issues that should have been fixed prior to being released. I received this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review.

Just perfect!

Close your eyes, headphones on and allow yourself to be pulled into this amazing creation (easily done with this talented selection of cast).

Fabulous Story & Listen🎧 Captivating & Enjoyable!

This fabulous book is well written with interesting storylines that grabbed my attention right from the start and held it straight to the end. I enjoyed Jude Ouvrard’s wonderful writing style and the story and characters she created. They are realistic and easy to relate to. Hunter Reed thought she had her life all figured out, but that all changes when Jared, her long term boyfriend with promises of more tells her his feelings have changed and ends things. Hunter Reed decided to change paths and leaves everything she has known her whole life behind to start a new job in Portland. She also found an apartment not far from Hart & Miller Media Inc., where she will be working. She meets Emma who lives in the same building, they hit it off and Emma invites her to a halloween party. She also becomes friends with Xander another co-worker. Emma clicked with someone at that party, he was dressed up as Elvis, the chemistry between them was smoking hot. But the night ended quickly and she never found out who he was. Emma settles nicely into her new life and job, she works for one of the company owners, Brandon Hart but the chemistry between them in undeniable and their relationship turns personal. A lot goes on in this book, it is fast paced and there is never a dull moment. I sometimes wondered if there was more going on behind the scenes and still do and am looking forward to what comes next in the Truth or Lies Series. Jude Ouvrard, thank you for this fabulous story!

I listened to the Audible edition, Nicole Payten-Betts did a nice job narrating and bringing the characters and their story to life. She is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for this enjoyable listen🎧

Little White Lies

This was a good story about growing up and figuring out how to be own your own. Hunter has dated the same boy for years and when she expects an engagement ring she is surprised with a breakup instead. She decides to pack up and leave Utah and head to Portland Oregon to start over on her own. She has a famous father but she wants to do this own her own so when she arrives she keeps her parents identity secret. Come to find out everyone keeps a few little secrets and she will have to decide if Brayden's secret is too much to forgive.

Nicole Payten-Betts could have been a good narrator but there were several edits that needed to be fixed and it sounds like she has a natural accent that came out from time to time. This audio needed to be proofed better but the story is really good.

Because of the narration and lack of proofing I will rate this as a 3 overall. I really did enjoy the story though.

Delightful!

Little White Lies is a delightful story of a young woman who loses the future she had planned with her high school boyfriend, moving on with a chance to spread her wings by travelling to a job in Portland. Hunter Reed's heart was broken by her long-term boyfriend and she needed to make a new start. She was hired by Hart & Miller Media, Inc. and her boss is Braden Hart. He's out of town so she won't meet him until Monday. It's Friday and she's invited by her new friends at the company to go to a Halloween party. She's not overly excited about Halloween, but Emma talks her into it and she goes as Catwoman, a very sexy Catwoman! She lets herself live a little since she's with her friends, but she also drinks a bit too much. She dances with Elvis and they fit together just right. Monday morning, Hunter meets her boss and he is not only handsome, he's about her age. There's an immediate spark, but does Hunter really want to date her boss? Her friends are supportive of her relationship with Braden, except for Xander, who is starting to fall for her, himself. At Braden's for Thanksgiving dinner, she discovers something that they have all kept from her and she can't accept the lying. The only thing she can think of doing is fleeing. She's not going to go through this again. It takes a lot of work and some good timing to find their HEA. I'm on the fence with the whole problem with the lies. Why they would keep something as mundane as that away from Hunter makes little sense. Her overreaction bothered me, but at least they got their happy ending! Nicole Payten-Betts did a wonderful job with the narration, giving each character a voice and a personality!

Loved this audiobook

This was a fantastic book and I see it’s a series and can’t wait for more stories about the other characters.

Hunter is living a new life surrounded by new wonderful friends, but in the end we find out that all of them held a huge secret from her. Lots of interesting situations pulled together for a wonderful ending. I’m a fan of this author but as for the narration. Maybe Nicole is new🤷🏻‍♀️ she sounds like she was from the South or Boston in her pronunciations and it distracts from the story for me.

Also, I don’t know the process for narration of a book but I also don’t understand how anyone would allow an audiobook to go to the masses when there was several spots where Nicole stuttered, stopped then repeats it correctly. So for that reason it drops the overall rating to 4🌟

I received this audiobook at my request and this is my opinion.
