Publisher's Summary
To see the world through Jenny Slate's eyes is to see it as though for the first time, shimmering with strangeness and possibility.
As she will remind you, we live on an ancient ball that rotates around a bigger ball made up of lights and gases that are science gases, not farts (don't be immature).
Heartbreak, confusion and misogyny stalk this blue-green sphere, yes, but it is also a place of wild delight and unconstrained vitality, a place where we can start living as soon as we are born, and we can be born at any time.
In her dazzling, impossible-to-categorise debut, Jenny channels the pain and beauty of life in writing so fresh, so new and so burstingly alive, we catch her vision like a fever and bring it back out into the bright day with us, and everything has changed.

Springtime in literary form
amazing company during lockdown, it was like listening to spring or nature itself. The pining after men gets annoying but at least she is conscious of this.

I found it affected and wanky rather than quirky.
I found this book so annoying I could not tolerate it for more than 20 minutes which is really uncommon for me.

Moving. Weird. Sweet.
Very enjoyable listen, moved by the salute to the loviness of every day tasks and rituals.

Fabulous, full, heartening
This book sparks such joy! Cried, properly LOLed and put my hand to my heart at least a couple of times. A truly special piece of writing, with truly special narration from the author. Huge fan
