Little Red Cap

Little Red Riding Hood is my son's absolute favorite fairy tale, and we own many version of it in various media. We all know the story, obviously, but there are many interpretations of it with slightly different events.

In this one the heroine is named Little Red Cap--not Little Red Riding Hood--so the title is not exactly accurate. It is also the version where the wolf is still alive when the Huntsman cuts him open, and Little Red Cap puts stones in the wolf's stomach and they sew him back up to die a grisly death. I've always disliked this particular spin on the Riding Hood tale, and wish it were one of the other ones where they just kill the wolf. I had to have a bit of a talk with my child after we listened to it. (Of course, you kind of have to do that with most fairly tales, anyway.)

The narration was excellent, however. If you don't mind the weird name for the heroine or the torture of the wolf, then I think this is the version to get.

Childhood Classic

My wife and I have been watching our three year old granddaughter lately. At bedtime we have been using Audible as a way for her to listen to a bedtime story.

This classic tale of Little Red Riding Hood did not disappoint. My granddaughter has requested this story every night for the past three days.

The narrator did an excellent job of narrating the book. My granddaughter really likes the narrator's accent.

I was provided with this review copy free of charge, and have chosen to leave a review.

5 Star 💫Blast from my past 😊

I was told this story as a child, but it was never narrated this well lol. For me, this is a childhood classic I still love hearing. My granddaughter gives it 4 👍's up. I'm going to add another 👍for Heidi Gregory's wonderful narration. I was given this free copy at my request and have voluntarily decided to leave this review.

Good old fashioned morality tale.

I still can’t understand why I have never heard the original story before! Everybody has to strip it if its gravity and/or moral consequence.

I enjoyed this as an adult. Not sure how much a three year old me would have liked it, but very sure that seven year old me would have loved it!

The narrator did a great job.

Pretty basic version of a classic.

This was a good listen if you are looking for the original version of a classic story. Child friendly as well.

A wonderful rendition

A wonderful rendition of Little Red Riding Hood. Although there are a few little changes that bugged me but overall it’s a wonderful listen of a classic tale.

A perfect presentation of Red Riding Hood

I loved how old school this version of Grimm's Little Red Riding Hood was...not scrubbed clean and rated G like so many of today's versions of fairy tales are. The wolf does ingest the girl and her grandmother (spoiler alert!) and has to be cut open in order for them to escape.

Ms. Gregory has a beautiful voice and her British accent was a nice touch to this story. This audio book was enjoyed by everyone in our household, ranging from age 1.5 to 39 :)

Thank you to the authors, narrator, and audiobookboom.com for a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for my fair and unbiased review.

The True Classic

I heard Little Red Riding Hhood when I was younger but not this version. This version is the actual tale without any editing. I enjoyed hearing Ms. Gregory tell this tale although she called the child Little Red Cap instead of Riding Hood. It was a pleasant listen and would recommend this to all who have children.

A Classic Tale

I listened to Heidi Gregory's narration of the 'Three Little Pigs' and thought she did an excellent job narrating it, and I can say the same for 'Little Red Riding Hood', although she's called "Little Red Hood" in this version. It follows the familiar story, although I had never heard the part about the second wolf at the end.

All in all its a straightforward retelling of a classic children's tale with great narration.
