Publisher's summary

EDWARD TEAK WANTS OUT. He is the CEO of a failing hospital in a dying town. When he learns that a for-profit mega-chain is interested in acquiring the hospital if its finances can be improved, Teak hatches an outlandish plan to eliminate the five most costly patients imperiling the system.

While it’s nothing he’s proud of, it just might work, putting some miserable souls out of their misery, making the hospital someone else’s headache, and saving himself in the process.

He’s so close; he can almost feel the cords of the promised golden parachute in his sweaty palms. But it is all unraveling. Fast.

Teak’s no mastermind killer. Frankly, he’s lucky he made it this far.

Little Falls follows Teak’s darkly funny path, one marked by missteps and double-crosses. Along the way, Little Falls reveals the misplaced incentives and hypocrisies that distort American healthcare, ultimately asking how much a life is worth in a world where the bottom line always wins.

This Writer and Narrator had me Laughing out loud!

Can highly recommend this audiobook! The narrator did an awesome job of bringing it to life and making the writing even funnier than it already was. Plus, every character had a unique voice and personality. Little Falls is a clever, contemporary satire on the state of the American healthcare system, and lack there of! Riddled with colourful characters that were hard not to root for, even if their motives were murderous and malevolent. A triumph! ***** 5 Stars

Great read!!!

This book was suspenseful, humorous, and very well narrated. An incredibly entertaining story of how far a hospital CEO will go to LOSE his job! While the story unfolds it also illustrates (with much humor I might add) the disparities between mega for profit hospital conglomerates and smaller stand alone non profit hospitals. Extremely well written and highly recommended, enjoy!

Plausible mystery following a bumbling executive

You would think someone as inept as our main protagonist would have a little difficulty getting away with murder. Nah, he has a LOT of trouble with it, and the hi-jinks get more absurd, more hilarious, and more dangerous to exposing his crimes with each passing chapter. In a creative and believable story by Will Werner, performed with appropriate seriousness, flair, and drama by Luke Welland, is a tale with enough grounding to make you wonder about the inner workings of the next hospital you might find yourself checked into.
