Publishing Can Be Deadly

I enjoyed this book as much as the first one in the series. I loved the relationship between Gracie and her husband Blake. I really liked that the author used this character to describe the difficulty with getting a book published in a humorous and easy to understand way. I liked the twists which kept my attention engaged. I appreciated the cleverness of both Gracie and Blake. I enjoyed Alexandra Bitton-Bailey's narration as her performance enhanced the story's entertainment. I was given a copy of the audiobook. I volunteered, without financial gain, to post this review which reflected my honest opinions regarding this audiobook.

Gracie finds herself one step closer to her dream of becoming a professional romance writer when she wins an award as upcoming new non published writer. She is invited to the annual conference as an award winner. She becomes hopeful that this will be her big break but reality soon strikes her as she realizes the struggles are only started. She ends up befriends a well known author who promises to help her out by introduce her to her publicist and publisher.

But Gracie has a habit of getting into deadly situations. She finds herself almost killed by a dead falling body while climbing the stars. The dead person was a well known romance author whom everyone disliked and was early on served a subpoena for plagiarism.

She ends up team with her new mentor to write a book under the use of murder of the dead author. The more she intestate secrets will unravel. Things are not all it seems as she will soon find out. Grace brings her charming personality into her sleuthing skills in play.

The characters are different, will push you off a cliff, and undercut you if you are a writer in their field. My heart went out to Gracie Elliott and her husband. How do you deal with people like these while trying to get your romance book published.

Gracie is a graceful amateur sleuth. I enjoyed each twist and turn. The narrator did a wonderful job enhancing the story.
