understandably popular

I really get why Lingus is such a popular story. It is part friends to lovers, part porn star romance. Like all the others in the genre there's a good amount of angst. The characters are lovable, the dialogue is hilarious, and the story is believable.

Carlie Dalton did a good job. No complaints.

I really enjoyed this title. the narrator was fantastic. she seemed to enjoy the title, and brought it to life. This is a slow burn love story, with some very sexy scenes! This is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors, and now a favorite narrator as well.

The first half of the book was great. The second was okay. Too much repetition.

Loved it

I really loved the book. It is outrageously funny and cringe worthy at times but Kulti is my favorite so far.

Ehh.. it’s ok.

So far all of this author have had amazing and I mean AMAZING books but this one just didn’t do it for me. I found myself distracted the whole time and just not as invested as I was with her other books. There was nothing wrong with it. It was written well and it was a cute little story. No over the top drama and no “dumb” blond type of things and not overly sexed even though it is about a porn star. I just couldn’t get into the same as the others. The narrator is really great however and I may need to look for other books she does as well.

Great with holes

Like all of Zapata's other audiobooks I thoroughly enjoyed Lingus. Zapata follows her trademark slow burn style which I enjoy, and unlike most other romance novels Zapata's Male and female leads are refreshingly not cookie cutter and differ from novel to novel. Dalton's performance was fabulous as always, she truly is one of my favourite narrators. My only beef with this one, is that I felt that the author did not explore Tristan's porn career enough. The how was covered, but not the why. Tristan didn't seem to be hurting for cash and he was on his way to a well paying career so why did he stay in the business? I kept waiting for Kat to ask him why, right up to the very end, but it never happen. This is an entertaining read but set your expectations that there are a few thing that don't quite make sense.

Hot, and sweet and HOT

Fantastic story and characters with a great love story wrapped up in one hot steamy slow burn.

I liked it, but didn't love it.

Let's start out with the comedy, which was the part I liked best about this book. I have a very wide sense of humor and the kind of potty humor that I saw other reviewers complaining about didn't bother me. I actually found it refreshing that the female lead wasn't an unrealistically innocent girly girl. I have gotten tired of reading about the perfect virgins and their untouched parts or girls who would NEVER EVER talk about masturbating or farting lest they catch a case of the vapors and have to clutch their pearls and swoon. They also managed to make her have a different sense of humor without falling into the trope of "I'm not like the other girls" and it was well executed. The humor here was something new and I really enjoyed laughing along at their crude jokes. The characters seem very real. I like that they were honest and sexual and much more like people I have met in real life.

Now to the parts I didn't like quite as much. The first 6-7 hours of the book are just the main character going back and forth wondering if the male lead could //POSSIBLY// like her, or if she can like him while he does porn. It gets repetitive fast and at a certain point I was getting annoyed by the constant back and forth of her thoughts that didn't seem to want to come to a conclusion.

I was also confused about why the male lead was even doing porn when he had an inheritance and he clearly wasn't doing it just for enjoyment, as he admitted himself to being tired of it. I feel like they were trying to make him seem like he "wasn't like other porn stars" because of his whole schtick of always wearing a condom while filming and not really being that into it. It feels like she was ashamed of him being an adult film star even though she doesn't feel that way about her own friend who does porn, so it the disparity felt a bit disingenuous.

Overall, I did enjoy this but I don't think it will be something I listen to over again like I do with some other books.

Sexy, Cute, Enjoyable

This is the sexiest slow-burning romance I have yet read so far. The idea of a porn star taking it slow is quite unique and that's what makes this story work.
Callie Dalton's narration style really fits the story and I love her range in voices.
