In a world where knowledge is power, the library is the greatest weapon of them all.

My necromancy-practising murderers never expected me to rise again.

I was just the latest in a long line of gullible sacrifices to ensure their continued control over the Arcanaeum, so it shocked everyone when I woke up as a ghost and kicked them out.

For centuries now, I've faithfully carried out my self-appointed duties as the librarian. I keep the vast halls of magical knowledge organized, fight the mad whims of the sentient—and interfering—building, and deal with the incessant demands of our patrons.

I have all the books and solitude I could ever want, the ability to redecorate whenever I get bored, and I can banish arcanists who refuse to follow my rules.

But the Arcanaeum has started acting out, especially when it comes to six particular patrons, all of whom want something from me.

Jasper and Dakari need my protection, but Pierce isn't above threatening me to ensure I give them both up. There's no rule that Galileo and North won't break to get into the secret vault. And then there's Lambert, who seems to exist for no reason other than to vex me with his smiles and... hugging. Inconvenient, given that every time they touch me, my ghostly body cracks and breaks like glass.

To keep the Arcanaeum safe, I might just have to put my trust in all of them, but what if the cost of the building's safety is my destruction?

Liminal is the first book in a new paranormal why-choose/reverse harem series featuring a grumpy ghostly librarian, a meddling magical library, one golden retriever, and steamy slow-burn tension. There is no MM or FF in this series.

Contains mature content. A complete list of content warnings can be found on the author's website. Narrated in duet style.

This was such a different take on a why choose and I actually really loved that it was more plot driven. I really like the mystery of this book and I can’t wait for book two to be released in audiobook. That cliffhanger 😨😨 it was not very spicy but I think the slow burn works better than if it started super steaming from the beginning. Plus that would make no sense from a plot point of view.

Absolutely loved this book 👻

what an emotional roller-coaster. First off these voice actors were fantastic and all the accents.. love!
🚨WARNING some spoilers.. but not enough to ruin the story...

the story starts off with our MFC death.. so right off the bat you're in the thick of it.. she's just about to start school at the academy but was found and mentored over the summer by the head magistrate.. but before the year can start she's let inside the "Arcanium" aka magical library and follows her mentor and friend down to "the vault" where she is betrayed and her magic and life was sacrificed to reboost the libraries magical stores.. she was chosen since she was an orphan and no one knew of her or her powers.. But something went very different when she more than merges with the Arcanium, she becomes apart of it yet not.. in turn she revokes the cards of the heads of the 6 families that murdered her and so she becomes "The Librarian"

Things get interesting when slowly the library starts issuing new library cards to deserving individuals. But after 500 years the final heir of a house of the man she trusted the most that lead to her death, is admitted and this changes everything.. the world building and the character development is everything.. and the slow burn gets turned up.. she's dead but she's not blind!

I read hundreds of books a year. Hundreds. This was my 2025 favorite and it was so good I got it on audio to re-read (listen) to in preparation for book 2. Hosting a Thanksgiving for 20 was not going to stop me from enjoying this. No one was more surprised than me to realize this would also be my 2025 favorite audio book. The narration was spectacular and added depth to an already compelling story. The accents were well done and so much fun to listen to! I don’t leave reviews but this one was too good not to. Bravo. 👏

My favorite 2025 Read!

I read ...ahem... A LOT..... of Reverse Harem novels and have listened to my fair share. I absolutely loved this one and how unique it was. I had become so bored of the same plot being regurgitate every time and I was craving something unique. it is definitely a slow burn and by the end I would say the harem isn't even all complete, but man was the journey amazing. There's mystery that I couldn't guess right off the bat, and a well thought out plot and characters. This one is lighter on the spice but if you need a breath of fresh air in this genre give it a shot!!!!!!

Not the same old RH plot. I LOVED it
