Publisher's Summary

Lily Barlow, a quirky college student obsessed with the fictional bounty hunter Stephanie Plum, is called home from the University of Virginia to get the family bakery running after her dad’s heart attack. Stuck in a sinkhole of self-pity, she finds her sleepy hometown...well...can a town actually be in a coma?

No worries. All she needs to do is hire a bakery manager, and she’s not even moving back in with her family for that part. Instead, she rents an efficiency garage from Miss Delphine Walker, an old woman whom Lily begins to believe may have killed someone at some point in time.

Meanwhile, Lily’s overactive imagination takes a swan dive when she discovers an online clearinghouse for victims the cops can’t identify. Consumed with the profiles on the website, Miss Delphine, and the candidates for the bakery manager position, she simply cannot cope with one more problem. So when Jack Turner, her best friend since kindergarten, reveals out of nowhere that he wants something more than friendship, what’s a woman to do?

Great read!

I loved this book and can’t wait for a sequel! It was a thoughtful storyline with intrigue, humor and great attention to detail. I love the southern charm infused without, including the phrases. I love that the author reads it herself, to me it ensures it’s read exactly as she intended.

Loved it!

Listening to this book was very enjoyable. It was very funny and witty and surprisingly sensual, yet very relatable. I really feel like the author and would be friends if we had met. The fact that the author reads it herself makes it that much better. She's an accomplished narrator and being that she's reading her own work, I never had to question the inflection, accent, speech, or tempo of the text.

It’s not very often that I like a book so much that I struggle to NOT read it while I’m exercising and supposed to be listening to loud rock. I’m sad that it’s done and really looking forward to book 2! Please take a chance and check this book out!
