Prepare to laugh, cry, and fall in love with this enthralling new romance from J. Bengtsson - available in audio first!

When a letter from his supposedly deceased mother finds its way into his hands, life changes in an instant for international pop star Bodhi Beckett.

Reeling from the deception of those closest to him, Bodhi spirals out of control and is sent to a secluded mansion in the coastal mountains of Southern California for some rest and relaxation. But the retreat proves to be anything but relaxing when a raging wildfire sets the landscape around him ablaze.

While escaping the flames, Bodhi rescues Breeze, a quirky, pet-loving woman, and together the two fight their way to safety. In the aftermath of the fire, Bodhi and Breeze hit the road to uncover the truth about his family. What neither of them expected is to forge a powerful connection that will change their lives forever...but can it survive the real world, or will it disappear like the wind?

Editor's Pick

A love story amidst an all-too-current fiery landscape
"Having the seeds of love bloom during a California wildfire seems a counter intuitive beginning for a romance. I was, in fact, holding my breath over the stress of listening to two characters trapped in a life-threatening fire rather than holding my breath in anticipation for their potential meet-cute. No, it was not a meet-cute. But while their relationship was born in fire, it flourished in the quiet moments that came later. Through the performances of narrators Callie Dalton and Zachary Webber, the chemistry that draws Bodhi and Breeze together is undeniable—it’s especially cute to hear them laugh together. From an author who has a history of crafting lovable characters, this came as no surprise, and it was, in the end, an entirely uplifting story."

I've been smiling and swooning the whole time!

It's so great when a story can transport the listener into a happy place! With Bodhe & Breeze I felt engaged from the get go! I think J. Bengtsson has found her calling writing about rock stars but it's much more than that! it's the layers of complexity that she creates with their backstory, the way that they grow and how they seem so real that one can't avoid but root for them. I've enjoyed this narration from start to finish and am so glad for her as an author to have been given this opportunity to do an original story for Audible. The casting was spectacular!! Nothing wrong with Zachary Webber as a rock star with issues and Callie Dalton embodies Breeze perfectly!! Huge thumbs up across the board!

There Is SO Much To This Story!

I hate to admit this, but I went into this audiobook thinking it might not be my cuppa tea.. but because I am a fan of J.Bengtsson, I wanted to give it a try.
I am SO GLAD I DID.
What a beautiful, emotionally charged multifaceted story! I loved the bold characters, humor, detailed spine-tingling scenes, heart mending ones and everything in between!
This is one story that consumed me in the best of ways!
Brilliantly written, and spectacularly narrated, making for an all-around listening pleasure!!

Amazing Story!

I have loved all the other books by this author, but I think this may be my favorite. The characters are amazing and the storyline is a fun rollercoaster ride. Highly recommend to anyone!

So MANY things are done right in Like the Wind...

So many things were done very well in Like The Wind; if I wasn't already a fledgling fan of J. Bengtsson after reading Rogue Wave, this book would have been the deciding factor. From the intense introduction, to the way that my heart shattered as I was forced to sympathize with those that suffered from the wildfires in California (the way the author penned those scenes evoked visceral reactions in me), to the likable characters, to the many twists and turns the story took that I was just not expecting- this book had everything. Now, I will admit to feeling bit of an emotional disconnect with the characters, as well as some ambivalence towards their coupling (other than the wildfire bits, I felt more like an observer than someone that was immersed in the story, which is what I prefer), so I can't give Breeze and Bodhi 5 wine glasses. But I can give them a strong 4 and I look forward to reading more from the author (probably by starting the Cake series from the beginning). 4 out of 5 wine glasses.

Inferno

Several laughable moments made this book super enjoyable. Zachary Webber is one of my favorite narrators. He puts so much into the character and truly makes them come alive.

Trapped

Bodhi Beckett, is an international pop star from a boy band, that feels his life is spinning out of control and decides to take some personal time in the coastal mountains of Southern California. Barely escaping with his life from a wild fire, Bodhi leave the mountain top to escape the flames only to find a young Breeze, pet-sitter attempting to walk down the same road filled with smoke.
Once Bodhi and Breeze are safe, the two decided to discover Brodhi's past and what they don't expect is to learn just as much about themselves as they learn about each other.
I've always enjoyed the silky sounds of Zachary Webbers' voice. He brings depth to the characters and makes you feel what the author is expressing.

just ok

This story had the potential to be so much better. Zachary Webber was an amazing narrator although I did not care so much for the female narrator. Her narration was very mechanical and over exaggerated in the wrong places. The story over all was just OK.

Loved this one!

A few housekeeping things first: Zachary Webber and Callie Dalton? What's not to love!? They are two of my favorite narrators because the way they narrate, it just feels natural.

Bodhi's world is falling to pieces when he realizes that he's been told lies by his dad all his life. A wildfire and a beautiful, quirky young woman make him look back and analyse his spiral down in the last months. Breeze is the girl who saved from the fire. In return, she saves him. From a loveless life, a shallow life spent in the limelight.

Breeze was raised by hippy parents and it shows. Her easygoing, earthy and quirky disposition make her all kinds of endearing. If she were a real life person I'd want her as my best friend. A person like that would be smothered in the world of Bodhi Beckett, superstar and member of an internationally successful boyband.

Bodhi is enarmored by Breeze from the first moment. Her big heart, her lively personality, her sense of humor, everything about her makes him fall in love with her fast. Bodhi is surprisingly normal for somebody who has thousands of screaming girls at his feet. He and Breeze forge a very strong connection from the moment they meet, surviving a catastrophe together that could have easily cost their lives, made it so. But it's their banter and sweetness that made them magical and put a perma-smile on my face.

Like The Wind was waaayyy less angsty than I expected and so much fun, I had a blast. It was a cute, feel-good rockstar story that I couldn't stop listening to. A shout out to the stellar editing that made this story "unpluggable." There were action-filled parts, when Breeze and Bodhi tried to escape the fire, that made me hold my breath because I was on edge, others made me swoon and laugh, only a few made me hurt just the tiniest bit. This was my first book by J. Bengtsson and I am impressed by the wonderful storytelling and crisp writing style, so I'll come back for more!
