Publisher's Summary

In the dead darkness of the underwater, there were lights.

Coming home for summer break, two film school students, Bradley and Tag, decide to shoot a staged UFO encounter video, one that could potentially generate a lot of attention and a lot of clicks on YouTube. Unexpectedly for both of them, during the filming, they accidentally discover a real alien presence in the dark waters near their coastal home town.

Awful Narrator

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

I do not think anyone would enjoy the narration of this book. I could not finish it because it was so awful Steven Morgan Reading was mechanical. I think a computer would do a better job I wish I could have returned this book but could not figure out how to do so.

What could Perie Wolford have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Too bad I could not give any feedback since I could not finish the book

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Absolutely. I have heard some amazing narrator and this one was terrible. I would advise no one to puchase a book that this narrator had been used on.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

I was very disappointed that I could not complete the book.

X-File Light or Scooby Doo Mystery Machine

Any additional comments?

Unfortunately I listened to the audio version of this story narrated by Steven Morgan rather then read it. That may account for part of my adverse reaction because Mr. Morgan is not a gifted performer. But no, the infantile plot and intermittently ungraceful sentence structures are all the responsibility of the author Mr. Wolford. The story would plod along and then it trip’s on these oddly worded sentences that have this weird cadence to them, disrupting the flow. The characters are shallow and a bit cartoonish and made me think of a Scooby Doo and Shaggy adventure rather than science fiction. Two of the characters are gay but nothing of any emotional or physical significance happens between them. What is the point of having gay characters in the story if nothing happens? They could have been two straight characters and it would have changed nothing.

My recommendation is to use your time on a book that is written better, with a more enticing set of characters, and a better plot.

Boring, Too Long & Monotoned

I really tried to listen to this book to the end but just couldn't. My suggestion for Perie Wolford would be to rewrite this story and get a better narrator. The writing is very disjointed and chunky. I also feel that the book could be about half as long and become better with just that adjustment alone. As far as the narration goes...Steve Morgan should narrate guides and the like. He has a nice voice but no range and definately no emotion. Put those two together and you get a book that just can't be listened to fully. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT get this book!! It WILL be a waste of your time and money/credit.

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

as good as the ebook

The story is always 4 or 5 stars, because if I wouldn't like the story as ebook, I wouldn't listen to the audiobook.

The performance from the narrator is also very important for me. I can't listen to a lot, because my English as a non-native-speaker isn't so perfect to follow a whole story over hours, when the narrator speaks too fast or too sloppy. Normally I have to SEE the person, who is talking to me in English. It took me a little bit, to come into the narrator, but at the end, it worked. I only have to take a few breaks between. I'm just not yet finish with the book, but I listen enough to give a review.

PLEASE READ MY RATING SYSTEM!!!

To my ratings:

5* - very very good
it's like an A+

4* - very good and will be often re-listening
it's like an A

3* - it's more then a one-time-listening, but not more then twice a year.
it's like a B
