This was a good read

Although spends the first twenty something years living as someone else. She is rescued by her uncle and comes to live and work with a man who's son has epilepsy. Her dog knows what to do to keep the boy safe and convinces his grandfather who is actually the heroine's father that the dog should stay in the house with him. Her faith in god and belief that there is good in everyone comes in handy on many occasions when she is attacked by people who don't want her father to know who she is. The story has a lot of twists and turns but they are not so twisted that you can't follow the story. This is worth the credit if you want a good story to listen to on a long drive or a rainy day.

I was given this book in exchange for an honest review via audiobook boom.

Very Good!

I've yet to read a book by Colleen Coble that I didn't enjoy. This one didn't disappoint. It was hard to put it down. The only thing that was a distraction, was the break between chapters. They were excessively long, leaving one wondering if the story had come to an end for some reason. If there was a way to shorten up that pause, it would be a great Improvement to the audio version. Other than that, the narrator did an excellent job, and the story was great!

Sweet story, a little heavy on unnecessary details

A sweet romance set around a mystery. Christina Moore did a great job portraying emotion but had a little trouble with the male voices. I found that there was a lot of time spent on describing and explaining little domestic details like dress making and pouring tea. In my opinion it was too much and took away from the mystery and intrigue. There was a lot of time spent on the relationship between the main characters and it seemed as if the mystery was going no where until it did and then was solved. I would have liked to have seen less unnecessary details and more time fleshing out the mystery. Over all it's a pleasant listen if you are more interested in romance then mystery.

whiney

What do all of audible Escape have in common? Whiny women that have to be rescued.

Interesting story with a little of everything

it was nice to listen to a book you don't have to worry about compromising scenes. The story starts with a near-drowning, but you don't know why. A girl is raised as someone else but you can't quite figure out who's behind it and what happened to her mother and father. This story is suspenseful and keeps you guessing. It's an old fashioned story, but interesting enough that you don't mind. The narrator was just okay for me. She has a very vintage way of reading and pronouncing words which got a little distracting. She reminded me very much of my 75-year-old piano teacher, who is a lovely woman, but straight out of the 1950s.

So glad I stuck with it

I knew I would like it! I loved the why it started out. Then it kinda slowed down a little compared to the monstrous start. But something told me that it’s going to be good. And it was. Great story one thing though, I got lost to where they were. I live in Crescent City and used to live in Eureka and Ferndale (the most beautiful little town in all of California, and I know where Fort Bragg is, so when they said they were here or there I was like where is that? I got so lost! Lol
