This is a prequel to the Elemental Dragons series and it can be read as a standalone. However, if you are going to read this as part of this series I suggest you wait to finish the second book first. This installment gives the backstory of the Fire High Priestess and takes place 20 years before the first book in this series. This story also adds a little more background to this world.

This is a super short and fast paced read. I can not make up my mind if it was just too short or if some of the information in it could have been added to the first two books.

Fabulous series intro!

Light the Fire is the prequel to the Her Elemental Dragons series. It tells the story of Calla who is called to be the next Fire Goddess even though there hasn't been one for a long time. She is told to choose 4 mates and then journey to the Fire Temple. Choosing 4 mates should be easy since she has 4 men that she cares about in different ways... but the question is will they accept not only being her mate but sharing her with the others??

This story starts the amazing journey that is even better in audio than reading. Especially since the narrator does an amazing job!

Prequel

I was so happy to come back to this world with this prequel. Calla's story is the prequel and gives background and information about the fire priestess. it isn't necessary to read to enjoy the series but it does give some more information and more time in this world. I was so happy to find out more about her and her mates. They had a pretty bit decision to make and I enjoyed getting to see them make it. This was definitely a very steamy book. It was fun to listen to.

cute short story

I enjoyed this little peak into the fire priestess and her story. It was definitely a super quick listen, but it provided enough. I do wish there was more! It was nice to be back in this world again, and I liked the interactions they had with the dragons. It was interesting to see how one particular dragon played his role, even shortly (vague to avoid spoilers). I read this after the main series but I would recommend reading it first.

Light The Fire by Elizabeth Briggs is a prequel to the Her Elemental Dragons series.
Calla is called upon the fire God to choose her 4 mates and become the priestess at the fire temple.
I found this story well written and to contain important background information to the Elemental Dragons world. I enjoyed learning about Calla's history and really enjoyed this short story.
A perfect addition to a great series!

Not bad

I like the concept and the way it's written, but it's a little predictable for me. I like the narrator quite a bit, she's new to me, and did a very good job.

Just the Beginning

Light the Fire by Elizabeth Briggs and narrated by Lia Langola is the book 0 in Her Elemental Dragons.
Its a very short story that begins the rest of the chronicles, books 1-4.
Basically, you meet the FMC, Calla, and her 4 best friends since childhood, who she just happens to love but cant choose between. Her mother has prearranged a marriage for her that she doesn't want, but then the fire god comes to her and tells her to become his priestess and bring 4 mates with you. She tells the men she wants and then Poof, its 20 years later.
I wish we had gotten to know more about her and the men, but its a great kickoff to the rest of the books.
Will I listen to it again? Probably, when I want the rest of the series
Will I recommend it to other? YES and already have

Great intro to the series!

I have not read this series, but since I have enjoyed books by this author before, I decided to give it a go. This is a prequel to the rest of the series, and I decided to start with it rather than the first book in the Elemental Dragons series because I am strange like that, but it didn't disappoint. I like this introduction to the world in which the author has created and I love the fact that the narrator is the same as from her Seraphim Academy series. I really like this narrator and the amazing job she does of bringing the stories to life. I am now going to jump into the rest of the series and cannot wait to see what happens.
