Calla's story is a prequel to the Her Elemental Dragons series. It’s a short Novell Calla is humble honest and smart . She and her family live in the fire part of the world , near the fire god. She needs to find four men that are willing to drop everything and spend their lives with her. She knows which men she wants to ask , Derel a man she hates to love , Falon Derel best friend, Roth who broke her heart after they split , and last, Blane of course the towns bad boy . Do the men agree.
This is a must listen . Then grab book 1 , where you see Calla again as the spirit grandmother

This is a prequel to the Elemental Dragons series and it can be read as a standalone. However, if you are going to read this as part of this series I suggest you wait to finish the second book first. This installment gives the backstory of the Fire High Priestess and takes place 20 years before the first book in this series. This story also adds a little more background to this world.

This is a super short and fast paced read. I can not make up my mind if it was just too short or if some of the information in it could have been added to the first two books.

Great intro to the series!

I have not read this series, but since I have enjoyed books by this author before, I decided to give it a go. This is a prequel to the rest of the series, and I decided to start with it rather than the first book in the Elemental Dragons series because I am strange like that, but it didn't disappoint. I like this introduction to the world in which the author has created and I love the fact that the narrator is the same as from her Seraphim Academy series. I really like this narrator and the amazing job she does of bringing the stories to life. I am now going to jump into the rest of the series and cannot wait to see what happens.

A well-written short read from a good author

Light the Fire (Her Elemental Dragons, #0.5), my second read from author Elizabeth Briggs, an author I'd wanted to read since acquiring 14 books by her over the last 5 years. I got this book in May of last year & lost track of it until I learned there was a series. “I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. I look forward to Stroke the Flame: Her Elemental Dragons, Book 1, as well as her other books. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

Fabulous series intro!

Light the Fire is the prequel to the Her Elemental Dragons series. It tells the story of Calla who is called to be the next Fire Goddess even though there hasn't been one for a long time. She is told to choose 4 mates and then journey to the Fire Temple. Choosing 4 mates should be easy since she has 4 men that she cares about in different ways... but the question is will they accept not only being her mate but sharing her with the others??

This story starts the amazing journey that is even better in audio than reading. Especially since the narrator does an amazing job!

Great story.

I've read this series before but I had skipped over this book. Listening to the audiobooks, I decided to start with this book. I'm glad I did. It gave me insight into the fire prestiest. It was a great start to the series.

prequel to Her Elemental Dragons

This is a prequal to Briggs new series Her Elemental Dragons. I loved the story line which gives a good background or intro to what's to come in future reads. This can be read as a stand alone and is a reverse harem romance read / listen. Narration is very well done and I loved he characters and storyline flow which was a faster pace but still informative and entertaining. I loved that each of Calla's mates have a history with her which endeared me to them as individuals and not just nameless, faceless, characters that have chemistry together. After reading / listening to this, I've very much looking forward to the rest of this series!

Calla is called upon the fire God to choose her 4 mates and become the priestess at the fire temple.
I found this story well written and to contain important background information to the Elemental Dragons world. I enjoyed learning about Calla's history and really enjoyed this short story.

Excellent addition to the series

I'm usually on the fence about prequels as they often feel rushed, incomplete, or unessential, but this one is the exception. I absolutely loved Calla's backstory and the romance was everything. The story was well written and developed and Briggs achieved a good balance between the individual story and tying it in to the series. The narrator did an excellent job bringing life to each character's personality too. A great, quick read fans of the series shouldn't miss!
