Acerca de esta escucha
Chester A. Riley: A husband. A father. A lovable, working-class bumbler with the proverbial heart of gold. William Bendix stars as this simple (and sometimes simple-minded) man who starts out with the best of intentions, and ends up making a big mess of things.
Scaling the mountainous molehills alongside him are his patient wife Peg (Paula Winslowe), his typical American kids, and his eclectic aggregation of friends, including Gillis and Digger O'Dell, the friendly undertaker - both played by John Brown.
These 16 digitally restored and remastered episodes find Riley facing wartime shortages, a seemingly constant fear that Babs is planning to elope, Junior's sports shortcomings, and a variety of workplace worries.
Episodes include: Fish Story 06-04-44, The Swap Shop 07-02-44, Babs' Date with Lieutenant Carew 07-16-44, Riley Meets Peg 07-23-44, Babs Elopes 10-15-44, Roswell Visits 11-03-45, No Guests for Junior's Birthday Party 11-10-45, Nervous Breakdown 11-17-45, Babs and Simon - Married 11-25-45, Babs' Music Scholarship 03-09-46, The Bread Shortage and the Black Market 06-04-46, Morris Buys Riley's House 06-22-46, Riley and Simon, Business Partners 01-18-47, Riley, the Bookie 12-02-49, Miracle of the Bells 04-07-50, Insurance Policy 03-09-51

Historia
First heard on network radio in 1948, Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar chronicled the adventures of freelance insurance investigator Johnny Dollar, "the man with the action-packed expense account."
For 14 years, it was one of the most popular detective shows on the air, lasting until the final days of network radio drama in 1962. Each story started with a phone call from an insurance executive calling on Johnny Dollar to investigate an unusual claim. His investigations usually required him to travel to distant locales and often involved murder.

If there's one lesson to be learned from science-fiction, it's that nothing lasts forever. From human lives to vast civilizations, the overarching theme of the genre is that the old will give way to the new. Look to futures past with X Minus One! One of the most imaginative series of the 1950s brings you to adventures in worlds beyond fear, beyond imagination, beyond the farthest stars. Works by the leading genre authors of the day (including Philip K. Dick, Robert Sheckley, and Clifford Simak) were turned into tight, well-acted half-hour dramatizations.

Come and study these 16 terrific episodes from 1954-1956. If you travel with her through the halls, you might encounter adolescent blunderer Walter Denton (Richard Crenna), the principal’s bobby-soxer daughter Harriet (Gloria McMillan), or the fumbling frog-obsessed science teacher Philip Boynton (Robert Rockwell). Eve Arden stars as Connie Brooks, the teacher with plenty of class, in 16 hilarious and heartwarming episodes. Gale Gordon, the master of radio's most impressive slow burn, is her fastidious foil, Principal Osgood Conklin. While haunting the Madison High hallways in search of one Philip Boynton - a tongue-tied biology teacher who seems more interested in the doings of his pet frog than in amorous advances - Miss Brooks meets with conniving coworkers, addled athletes, wide-eyed girls, and the feckless flatterer Walter Denton.

Created and written by Philip Rapp, Mr. and Mrs. Bickerson were the first married couple on radio to have a truly adversarial relationship. Scathing, sarcastic and comical, John and Blanche would fight about anything. Although they often argued about Blanche’s good-for-nothing brother, she would certainly insist that the big troubles were caused by John’s snoring and her resulting insomnia. There was nothing sweet or tender about their pillow talk, but it sure was funny!
