When Laura Kamryn disappears on a trip back to her remote hometown, her distraught fiance Rey Morfin rushes to investigate. Accompanied by Laura's childhood friend Anna Tyndall, Rey hopes that their combined knowledge of the town of Redbury will allow him to find his future wife - alive.
But beneath the surface, a wickedness stirs. The residents talk of a rampant fire which scarred the town, children flee from an old woman who lives between the trees, and monstrous shapes watch from the shadows.

still not sure
The book was ok. I did get lost a few times trying to figure out who was speaking. Still not sure of all the details. might need a second listen to catch it all.
