Publisher's Summary

From the pioneer of diabetes reversal and creator of the 'Newcastle Diet'.

Type 2 diabetes has been regarded as an incurable, lifelong condition for centuries. Even worse, it seemed to be inevitably progressive. When you got the diagnosis, it was as though above the clinic door was written: Abandon hope all ye who enter here.

Professor Roy Taylor is the world's leading expert on type 2, the man who in 2006 finally found the missing piece in the scientific jigsaw that paved the way for a cure. With his international team of researchers in Newcastle, he launched a multi-million-pound trial, involving 280 type 2 diabetics from around the UK, and last year published the remarkable, life-changing results.

In this audiobook, Taylor brings all the knowledge and experience that he has amassed during four decades of treating people with type 2. He offers a definitive account of how type 2 develops, explains exactly what is happening in the body if you have the disease and how you can live a full life beyond it.

Excellent, accessible and authoritative.

I’m a GP and trained at Newcastle Medical School so had the privilege of being taught by Prof Taylor. In this audiobook he is as engaging as ever, conveying complex ideas clearly and relating these to real life clinical practice. I will certainly be recommending this book to patients and colleagues and focus on remission for my diabetes patients.

Too basic

I do not like to give a poor review on a reference book. The book is very basic so did not give me anything new. Iideal if you are new to this area of diabetes. Unfortunately professor Roy Taylor who is obviously very knowledgeable in his field, should stick to medicine as he is not narrator material.
I recently read Why we get sick by Benjamin Bikman PhD which was far more informative. The clarity and detail about Insulin Resistance was fascinating and I would suggest you read this if you have some prior knowledge in this field

Not Great

This book is not great I expected more information regarding diet and control and how to keep your diabetes at bay if your lucky enough to reverse it.
