Publisher's summary

You can say goodbye to today's Internet, New York Times best-selling author George Gilder says. Soon the current model of aggregated free content populated with "value-subtracted" advertising will die a natural death, due, of course, to the simple fact that absolutely no one wants to see online advertising. What will tomorrow's Internet look like?

In Life After Google, Gilder takes listeners on a brilliant, rocketing journey into the very near-future, into an Internet with a new "bitcoin-bitgold" transaction layer that will replace spam with seamless micro-payments and provide an all-new standard for global money.

Reads like a Sci-Fi Thriller, bonus: IT'S REAL!!!

The way Gilder can unpack highly complicated events around the dominant rise/current state of the Tech superpower economy is masterful. I have little to no technical skill and I understood this profound book perfectly. He skips the heavy jargon and paints a picture of life outside the mainstream consumer driven internet... and the future he hints us toward is underestimated, compelling, and astounding in it's potential. I Really hope this author continues to write and publish books. Awesome.

Enlightening

This book shows just how much I don’t know about what’s been going on in the tech industry. It’s hard to know what to make of it. But definitely mind blowing.

Great Crypto Econ 101

From its roots in the google precrypto world to some of the current players to some insight in to where it’s going. This book is like Econ 101 for crypto and a great read. The book is filled with vivid stories about the minds that are building the future.

Great update on what to expect in the near tech future!!

George Gilder has the unique talent of a visionary. He can see trends and future businesses emerging from all angles - I would advise anyone to read his previous works BEFORE reading this book to determine if you agree?

Not for the layman

If you don’t already have a solid foundation with blockchain knowledge and terminology I wouldn’t recommend this book - I think it was a fantastic discussion on potential future outcomes but a fair amount went over my head. Very tech-y and not designed for the casual reader looking to learn more

Need someone who sounds like the 70 year old author to narrate it. But overall pretty good.

who is actually listening? 2018

Being that I'm 32 yrs old, from a small town near Lake Murray, SC where Internet/Intellect Service is underwhelming, I'll have to study this copy! 2022

A simply put, yet very complex value hierarchy system of social and political science. Technology.

Having a means to an end separates the animals from trainers. What a "time" to open your mind to the boundlessness of consciousness. Textbook Alchemy.

No Real Narrative, But Good

There's no narrative or story here, but it's very interesting as a history of silicon valley. I was expecting this to be more of a memoir/life story, but it's not and that's okay. I just don't want anyone to be misled.

Masterful, visionary and bold, kudos to George!

I will need to rethink the superimposed Google paradigm and hedge my crypto bets, thanks!

what did he say?

I found it difficult to understand parts of it, why it was necessary to go into great detail as if talking in circles.
some good key points though. worth reading.
