Lieutenant Eve Dallas puzzles over a bizarre suicide bombing in a Wall St. office building in Leverage in Death, the next in the #1 New York Times bestselling series from J.D. Robb...

For the airline executives finalizing a merger that would make news in the business world, the nine a.m. meeting would be a major milestone. But after marketing VP Paul Rogan walked into the plush conference room, strapped with explosives, the headlines told of death and destruction instead. The NYPSD’s Eve Dallas confirms that Rogan was cruelly coerced by two masked men holding his family hostage. His motive was saving his wife and daughter - but what was the motive of the masked men?

Despite the chaos and bad publicity, blowing up one meeting isn’t going to put the brakes on the merger. All it’s accomplished is shattering a lot of innocent lives. Now, with the help of her billionaire husband Roarke, Eve must untangle the reason for an inexplicable act of terror, look at suspects inside and outside both corporations, and determine whether the root of this crime lies in simple sabotage, or something far more complex and twisted.

Awesome ❣️❣️❣️

J. D. Robb (Nora Robert) is so awesome. I've read every In Death book written. She is my favorite author. Eve and Rourke are fantastic characters as are all the secondary characters. They never disappoint. Each book is fresh and new, as well as romantic, sexy, and gritty. Don't miss reading this one!

Another good read in a great series

I don't think that there has been one of the stories in this series that I didn't like. They are all good stories with fast paced intrigue, I also like to see how She's character has grown and she now has "family." The levity with the Oscars was also enjoyable. I'm sure this wil! annoy her in the next book

As always, a brilliant story!

I got out of listening to audio books for a year or so and got to missing Eve and Roarke. J.D. Robb doesn't disappoint. The story was fantastic and had me perplexed as to who the killer was for most of the book! Love the end especially. Susan Ericksen's narration was perfection as usual too. Can't wait to binge the next few books too!

Wrong narrator

Story was great, but the narrator has too few voices to keep the characters straight, especially between the men and women. I almost gave up on the performance several times. Next time, consider Orlah Cassidy for the read. Sorry I had to give the performance even one star.

Best book in the series for quite a while

Very very good book, but not particularly because of the crime. This book was good, in my opinion, because of the personal stories regarding the Oscar awards. Nadine Furst, TV newswoman and writer, wrote a book based on one of Dallas and Peabody's biggest cases. It was made into a movie and that movie, and Nadine, have been nominated for several categories in the Academy Awards. Eve does not want to go to the Award ceremony, but she knows that Peabody really really wants to go. Unfortunately they are in the middle of a big case where two men were forced to explode suicide vests in order to save their wife and child from execution by the bad guys. So far 18 people have been killed. The job is supposed to come before anything else and a three day trip to Hollywood does not seem to be feasible.

Eve is not as obnoxious in this book as she usually is, although she does have her rude moments. Almost all our old friends show up or are mentioned. This makes the book even more special. I love Roark and all the supporting characters - they are more dear to me than Eve. Little Bella plays a part, along with Mavis and Leonardo. My favorite characters, Peabody, and her sweet love McNabb have good roles. Also Feeney, Whitney, and the EDD gang are front and center. The ending was great. The bad guys got what they deserved and the personal story of the Oscars brought tears to my eyes.

Well done JD Robb/Nora Roberts. It is amazing how the writer keeps this series interesting and fresh. It constantly grows instead of fizzling out. The narrator, Susan Erikson, is the voice of the In Death characters and has made them so very real to me. Well done, Ms. Erikson. This is a great addition to the series.

Loved The Latest

ok I really loved the latest In Death, but the narrator was lacking!

Poor ability/range in character portrayal, her Irish accents was deplorable and her other accent fair at best.

I personally wouldnt listen to another narrated by this narrator.

Excellent

The book before this was just okay, not her best work but this one was great. You got the fast-paced action and tender moments as well as great character development.

Roarke’s voice is not as musical with Irish lilt as before

Great plot. Dissatisfied with Roarke’s voice. It was not as lyrical, lacking full Irish lilt. No longer as magical. Deducted 1 star for that.
