The now widely known map of calibrated levels of consciousness was presented in Power vs. Force in 1995 and has been translated into all the world's major languages. This was followed by The Eye of the I (2001), I: Reality and Subjectivity (2003), and Truth vs. Falsehood (2005), which explored the levels of truth reflected throughout society. Transcending the Levels of Consciousness returns to the exploration of the ego's expressions and inherent limitations and gives detailed explanations and instructions on how to transcend them.

This audiobook concludes the presentation of a long-predicted major advance in critical human knowledge. It explains the very essence of consciousness as it evolved from its primordial appearance as life on earth, on up through evolution as the human ego, and hence, the transcendence of the ego as the spiritual Reality of Enlightenment and the Presence of Divinity. The uncommon clarity and lucidity with which the highly evolved subject matter is presented facilitates the listener's understanding and comprehension.
Publisher's Summary
Letting Go describes a simple and effective means by which to let go of the obstacles to enlightenment and become free of negativity. During the many decades of the author's clinical psychiatric practice, the primary aim was to seek the most effective ways to relieve human suffering in all of its many forms. The inner mechanism of surrender was found to be of great practical benefit and is described in this book.
Dr. Hawkins' previous books focused on advanced states of awareness and enlightenment. Over the years thousands of students had asked for a practical technique by which to remove the inner blocks to happiness, love, joy, success, health, and, ultimately, enlightenment. This audiobook provides a mechanism for letting go of those blocks.
The mechanism of surrender that Dr. Hawkins describes can be done in the midst of everyday life. This audiobook is equally useful for all dimensions of human life: physical health, creativity, financial success, emotional healing, vocational fulfillment, relationships, sexuality, and spiritual growth.
It is an invaluable resource for all professionals who work in the areas of mental health, psychology, medicine, self-help, addiction recovery, and spiritual development.

COSMIC MIND
David R. Hawkins died in 2012. He was 85 years old. Hawkins lived life. like all human beings, in transition. At turns, Hawkins transitioned from agnosticism to atheism to belief in God. This progression seems correlated with education and experience but ends in philosophical belief. In each transition, Hawkins uses his intellect to form a philosophy that has appeal to many in search of life’s meaning. At times, Hawkins seems beyond reason but each step he takes offers insight to how one may live a more fulfilling life. Hawkins might be broadly characterized as a mystic. Even so, he was a formally educated, practicing physician, and psychiatrist.
To escape the trap of Plato’s cave, Hawkins explains one must use their senses to accept the mind’s perception of reality and continually let it go until its negative power disappears. An example would be one who gets angry over some event or action and accepts the anger; looks at it, accepts it, uses the mind to understand why there is anger, where it is coming from, and then letting it go. In the process, one finds anger has no meaning other than what one’s mind gave it.
With continual use of this process, Hawkins believes individual minds tap into a cosmic mind that shows the world as it really is; not simply as shadows on a cave wall. There is wisdom in Hawkins’ perception of life and how one can more constructively deal with its vicissitudes. “Letting Go” is wise counsel for those troubled by emotional and/or physical trauma. However, the principle of a cosmic mind takes a leap of faith.

Completed in the last year of Dr. David Hawkins life, this book is a masterpiece summation of his teachings. A must have missing Instruction Manual on being human
What did you love best about Letting Go?
That you could validate the information for yourself, instantly, was a very rare gift.
What other book might you compare Letting Go to and why?
Many books on matters of the human mind, experience, or spirit, and or matters of spirituality, use esoteric sounding language and teachings of the ancients to fluff-up what is being presented--it all sounds very impressive--which the reader is then largely expected to take on faith. Not so with Hawkins' work; He tells it like it is, and shows the reader exactly how we may experience the truth of this work for ourselves, right now, as we read. I have nothing to compare Letting Go to because I don't know of other books like this. It is a unique writing.
Any additional comments?
Absolutely Wonderful! A true gift to the world. Dr. Hawkins set out to help alleviate human suffering--no easy task--and his work Letting Go is a must have manual for anyone with a human life. Suffering comes about as a consequence of simple misunderstandings, about ourselves, and others. Thank you Dr. Hawkins for all your work.

A MUST READ!
Where does Letting Go rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I have read so many books along this line. I encourage anyone searching to understand how life unfolds, to read this. Forget about the ratings on story-performance etc. Read the book for the content, not entertainment, then practice the book. Once the book is read, your life will change because you will NOT be able to UNREAD the book! You can't UN-WATCH a movie. Once you internalize it, it changes you. This will change you for the better without question. The sample you hear is like the tip of an iceberg; there is SO MUCH more than what you hear initially. If you practice what is suggested, it will enhance your awareness even more. Do this for you.

Severely Flawed
The premise of this book--letting go of negative feelings--is a good--if not excellent--premise. The first chapter's hook is thorough and humorous. Lownds is a fine narrator. The execution of this book, however, is a step short of complete failure.
Hawkins' rhetoric on the benefits of "this technique" (as he frequently refers to the act of "letting go") is pleasant--if not healthy and beneficial listening. But when he dives into his scientific proofs of these benefits, he sounds like a complete fool. There is no quality science or evidence to be had in any page of this book.
There are good takeaways from this title, but for a wholly more satisfying read on this topic, turn to Michael Singer's "The Untethered Soul." Don't waste your credit here.
My key takeaways from "Letting Go:"
- The hierarchy of negative emotions: apathy, guilt, fear, anger. Courage is the breakthrough to the positive side of the spectrum.
- Guilt steals our past and present. Fear steals our present and future.
- The three states of consciousness: inert, excited, peaceful.
- The ego can be credited as the source of all sadness.

All of his books were written with his intention to help readers move further along in our journey from us being controlled by our mammal brain to us reaching the highest states of consciousness (enlightenment).
This audiobook is 12 hours long which is about double the length of an average audiobook.
Does it need to be 12 hours long or is it one idea with a lot of infill? It needs to be 12 hours long.
It seems to me to be a book for people who are already part of the way along the road away from thoughts and into consciousness.
The further along on this path that you are the more this book will resonate with you.
If you are not into spirituality then maybe you might not get as much from this book. The book mentions God.
It is the most advanced and expert self help book I have ever read.
This book "Letting Go" has so much in it that it is difficult to review without writing another book (:
One point that I haven't read elsewhere is that emotions cause thoughts, not the other way around.
He suggests that if you look at these emotions as they come up (generally fear, guilt or pride) without trying to change them, they will eventuality dissipate.
By dissipating 1 emotion you could get rid of thousands of thoughts around that particular issue.
I highly recommend buying this book.

An exceptionally influential read
What made the experience of listening to Letting Go the most enjoyable?
The book has become my first point of reference to understand and manage my emotions and feelings. The content is simple and profound, the narrator is an excellent choice, it's just a brilliant read/ listen that I just love picking up and listening to the specific topics again and again as needed. Thank you David R. Hawkins for sharing your priceless wisdom, you have made me a happy and content soul, something that until my first read I was at a loss to find.

Loved it ❤
l'm definitely reading this book again. Years ago, I was following the tool recommended in the book unconsciously and I was "truly" happy. Clear minded, had like a shield surrounding my heart, my feelings, the whole chest area if I would point physically to it. Even money was flowing in my hands without paying an effort. Then I have been through a shock of losing both of my parents and I couldn't handle it, I gradually lost myself and the people around me. I became more angry, more afraid I guess. Now, hoping to get things back in control with the help of this book. Thank you auther.

Remarkable
A very insightful book with an honest approach.
Shame about audible books not having the same table of contents as the hard copy as this would make it easier to follow

inspiring
excellent book. i had to restart midway as I thought I missed the actual mechanism of surrender, but I realized that the author does not actually give a mechanism because one has to experience it. best to start from the last chapter. the bio of the author

towards the end of the book religion is focus
disappointing book, a few big statements such as you cant do well with these techniqies if youre not religious and if you listen to heavy metal or rap music youll be unhappy because all of that music produces negative vibrations. really?

Not convinced
I didn't like this book to the point where I was irritated by what the author was saying. There are plenty of books on psychology that I found more helpful. Examples of where the method has worked were not very credible along the lines of 'once a man not completely happy with his career let go and got promoted to the director level in 2 days'. Sorry, Mr Hawkins but I'm not convinced.

I’ve listened to this more than 50 times
Honestly this book changed my life. It’s replaced all my personal processes of healing and brought me a super amount of peace. It took me out of depression and into thriving.
The technique took me a couple years to get right but once I did I was on a rocker ride to what ever the hell I wanted. This was because I didn’t give a hoot about it anymore as much.
It works really well for me, can also be quite confronting. Give it ago, my biggest recommendation for the book.

Life changing
I cannot gush how useful this book has been. It's a great reminder that all one needs to cope with loss, grief, anxiety and pain - the answer was inside yourself all along. All we need is to see that and the whole world will follow with our strengthened hearts. Crisis come because we need to break down old walls a build anew, always with love.

Life changing
I can understand why some would be hurt and frustrated by this book, as it promises so very much. We are very attached to our suffering. We discover in time that we do not want to let it go.
If you have the courage to see if there is more to life, and to see if perfect peace and happiness can really be an experiential reality, then I recommend this book.
Being is believing.

Life changing.... if you're truly ready to let go.
This book is exactly as described, a guidebook on how to surrender. About 5-10% was a little woo woo and had me rolling my eyes but its worth it for the pure chunks of gold. I read this book over the space of about a month and my mindset changed significantly in that time. I let go of my "need" to chase riches, beautiful women and status and changed my path to be more aligned with my true self. I'm happier, calmer and more steadfast in my identity as a result of this book.

Most Influential Book I’ve Ever Put In My Hands
This book, is BY FAR the most influential, mind altering, awareness creating asset I’ve ever put in my hands - I say this as I’ve now listened to and am reading the book.
Truly incredible and provides you with the ability to unlock your human potential.
Thank you, I’m excited to listen again now!

Unscientific, unsubstantiated
Don’t be fooled by the author’s credentials, no better than any other “spiritual enlightenment” book out there
