Dear Kelly, I have made zero human friends.

Director Sue insists that Mookie halt reportage and “make friends”, which seems easier said than done. Worst of all, Director Sue has spoken the five worst words in the English language: “it’s the swim test today”. Not eager to get in the lake where The Lady is lurking around, hungry for a legacy camper; Mookie decides to follow Director Sue’s directive by including other campers in her investigation.

Dear Kelly, The Lady is real and out to get me.

Mookie starts to make leeway on her investigation, only to be sidetracked by a trip off camp to the Umbrella Cover Museum. Good news is that she finds two kindred spirits in fellow camper Carter Ruben-Rubens and Ned, the friendly camp handyman. Less great news is that according to some stupid bus game, Mookie is apparently going to get married in a paper bag while driving an ice cream truck.

The annual Camp Cartwright talent show has all the campers abuzz. While the other campers practice "Don’t Phunk with My Heart" on the recorder, Mookie has located the camp archives but needs to find a way to get a look at them. The talent show is a nuisance, but it could be the perfect diversion for a proper investigation if only it didn’t mean missing Princess Nastya’s traditional Liechtenstein Polka.

She would like to run lines with Carter if only he were speaking to her. But nothing will distract Mookie Hooper. Especially after a helpful clue arrives in the mail.
