  • The Powerful Story Behind Erin's Law, with Erin Merryn
    Jan 12 2026
Child sexual abuse is far more common than most parents realize: 1 in 4 girls and 1 in 6 boys will be sexually abused by age 18. But there's hope. In one of the most powerful episodes I've recorded, I sit down with childhood sexual abuse survivor and activist Erin Merryn, who has spent 15 years getting Erin's Law passed in 38 states. This groundbreaking legislation requires K-12 schools to teach personal body safety education - giving children the language and knowledge to "get away and tell today." Erin shares her journey from survivor to advocate, the real reasons some states resist this life-saving education, and the incredible stories of other children whose lives have been changed (and saved) by learning this law. In This Episode: What Erin's Law is and why it's being passed state-by-state across America (and internationally)The difference between "personal body safety education" and sex educationStatistics, such as "90% of child sexual abuse is committed by someone the child knows and trusts, NOT strangers"How to access FREE curriculum and resources through the Erin's Law FoundationWhat parents & supporters can do right now to support this legislation in the remaining 12 states About Erin Merryn: Erin Merryn is an author, activist, and survivor who has dedicated her life to protecting children from sexual abuse. Erin's Law has passed in 38 states, Ontario (Canada), and a state in India. She's currently working on a documentary following her legislative journey, expected to release in 2027. • Anxiety, ADHD & Executive Functioning: Why "Just Try Harder" Isn't Working
    Jan 8 2026

If you've ever felt lazy, unmotivated, or like you just can't get it together, this episode is for you.
In this conversation, I'm breaking down why the problem usually isn't discipline - it's executive functioning, nervous system overload, and using the wrong tools for how your brain actually works.

This episode is especially helpful if you live with anxiety, ADHD, chronic stress, or the familiar thought of "I know what I need to do but I can't start."

    In this episode, you'll learn:
    • What executive functioning really is and why you get overwhelmed

    • How anxiety and ADHD impact organization, focus, and follow-through

    • Why "just try harder" often backfires

    • The difference between avoidance when it comes to boring tasks vs. anxiety

    • Simple strategies to build systems that support how your brain works

There's 4 key areas to focus on:
    • Executive function & focus

    • Organization & time management

    • Nervous system regulation

    • Self-compassion
