Story
There is nothing I hate more than when some big-city outsider stirs trouble in my peaceful little town. When Mr. Arrogance himself waltzes in and thinks he can slap a price tag on my land, he doesn’t know what he has coming. I’m not just a hick cowboy who’s going to bend to his good looks and charmless personality. No, sir. I don’t care how smart he looks in his fancy suits, all he cares about is money. I just wish I’d known who he was before I kissed him.

Publisher's Summary
Pickup man Bridge Sullivan is the kind of cowboy everyone wants - as a brother, a friend, a lover. People think he's straight, but Bridge isn't one for labels, and when a sexy male paramedic jumpstarts his heart, he charges in with all guns blazing.
New York City transplant Eric Palmer grew up in foster care. While he always had a roof over his head, he never felt love or a sense of belonging...until he joined the California rodeo circuit as a paramedic and found a band of brothers who took him in as one of their own. Now, one in particular is making Eric's pulse race.
When things heat up between Bridge and Eric, Bridge has to prove to Eric he's not just experimenting with the rougher sex, while Eric must overcome his fears of being unwanted and cast aside. He knows that trusting Bridge may be the key to his happy ever after, but getting in the saddle is much, much easier than learning to let it ride.

Hot cobys and sexy Paramedics
Romance. Angst. Happy Endings. Oh I nearly forgot…sexy cowboys and hot paramedics.
Ever since meeting Eric, Bridge has questioned his feelings. Finally, he can’t take it anymore and finally approaches Eric. Eric reciprocates his desires but his past keeps him from letting go. Whose heart will get broken?
I have read this series so I am already familiar with the books. This is book two, though you may be able to read as a standalone…I suggest reading in order so you get a bit more background on both Bridge and Eric.
I think I could listen I Dorian Bane all day every day. His voice is so rich; a perfect cowboy voice, yet he was able to drop an octave for Marty and even do a cool accent for Eric. The regular narration is hot, but let me tell you his reading of the sex scenes will set you on fire. I think we need a fireman tossed in here with our paramedic!
If you like sexy cowboys, paramedics, gay for you, an allover sweet romance with some scorching hot sex-scenes this is a must read.
I highly recommend this series!

Dorian Bane makes this audiobook really come alive
This was my second LC Chase book ever and I absolutely loved it! I am not normally a western/cowboy type book lover, but there are a few where the setting is just perfect for the love story and this is one of those books.
This is a GFY - which is definitely one of my favorite tropes, so it was easy to love. But – you can make a GFY go really bad if you don’t convince the reader that the guy “going gay” has really thought about it and made the amazingly difficult leap believable. LC Chase does, and does it very well.
Bridge is a great character, sexy, funny, sweet, heart of gold. Everyone loves him and so did I. What I really appreciated about this guy was how the author showed us his thinking process from attraction to action. Though it was “insta love” it wasn’t “Insta involvement” or “Insta gay”. He was appropriately trepidacious about possibly losing not one but several friends, and he didn’t want to hurt anyone. I thought it was well done and insightful.
Eric is the hot paramedic with a sad past. I didn’t like his character nearly as much as Bridge. I wanted him to either fight the relationship harder in the beginning or less at the end. He seemed to give in to Bridge, and his “we’ll just be fuck buddies” never rang true to me. I felt like he was deluding himself in a way that was much less believable than Bridge’s conviction to be a gay man.
The glimpse of the characters from the first book is nice, though it was not necessary to have read the books in order to enjoy this one.
The sex was fantastic, the love story sweet, the angst tear producing.
All in all a great book.
I give it a 4.5 of 5 stars only because I wanted Eric’s character to be a little more consistent.
Audio
Dorian Bane makes this audiobook really come alive. I LOVE how he’s done Eric’s slightly Bronx accent and he’s given Bridge this very methodical and thoughtful – heavy on the “western” – accent that matches him perfectly! Sometimes his reading gets a bit flat when he’s not doing the dialog, but the dialog more than makes up for that. I absolutely loved this narration and highly recommend it!

Worth a ride to read
First let me say I loved loved loved this book. I grabbed every minute I could to listen to this book. I totally fell in love with both Bridge and Eric. I thought that Bridge was sweet. In showing Eric how to ride I fell for both guy's. This wasn't about two men being gay it was about two men falling in love. The ending was perfect perfect perfect. I highly recommend this. Dorian Bane was an awesome narrator. There should be more books in this series at least I hope.

Great narration & sweet courtship saves this story
I didn't like this second book in L.C. Chase's Pickup Men Series as much as I liked the first book, but Dorian Bane's narration made it worth listening to. It could be read as a stand-alone, but will be more enjoyable if you read the first book.
Building on the friendship and obvious attraction between Bridge and Eric in the first book, it takes what seems like forever before Bridge acts on it and Eric agrees to up the ante to become friends-with-benefits. Similar to the first book, emotional baggage keeps Eric from believing he's worthy of being loved, which grew tiresome as a constantly repeated mantra.
But unlike the first book, which had major out-of-the-closet fears and drama, Bridge and Eric face no external pressures. This story focuses on Bridge's introduction to mind-blowingly hot sex and his sweet courtship to woo Eric's guarded heart. These scenes are the heart of the story and what made the slow beginning and standard plot-devices bearable.
Dorian Bane, who has quickly become my favorite narrator, did an excellent job at narrating Bridge's drawl and Eric's New York accent, as well as the others' voices. He brings these characters and their world to life.

Outstanding.
Any additional comments?
Dorian Bane is one of the best narrators that I've heard yet. Each of the characters (in both books of this series) comes across as an individual, and the voice acting is so incredibly good that the entire thing feels sincere and real. I enjoyed his performance immensely. I'm certain I would have liked this book had I read it instead of listened to it, but Dorian Bane really knocked it out of the park.

Easy Paced and Passionate Rodeo Cowboy Romance
If you could sum up Let It Ride in three words, what would they be?
Light, complex, satisfying
What other book might you compare Let It Ride to and why?
I don't really do book comparisons. But if you enjoy a story that seems simple and engaging on the surface with some underlying complexity, heroes who you would hang with, and sizzling chemistry in a romance, then here you go.
Have you listened to any of Dorian Bane’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Yes, I listened to his narration of book one. Seamless transition from first to second book. Voices were amazing and storytelling ability is captivating.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I didn't have any extreme reactions, but that is not to say that it was blah. Loved this story. Bridge made me laugh a few times. Not because he was laugh out loud funny, but because he was so forthright and saw the world so differently from those around him.Exhibit A“Man or woman didn't matter. Marty liked men, Kent liked women, and Bridge apparently liked both. But Eric was the one he wanted above all others, and for whatever reason, that felt all kinds of right. "Shit. I'm Eric-sexual.” I came near crying at the crucial point in the story when Eric's fears led him to break things off and break Bridge's heart. But fortunately there was more to the story and I could smile again later.
Any additional comments?
This is book two and does better if read after the first book as both main characters and the surrounding characters along with the situations were introduced in the previous book.
I rec'd this book from Riptide Publishing in exchange for an honest review.

Not too shabby, could be better though
I wanted to give five full stars if not bcuz of Eric very hot and cold indecisiveness attitude towards his whole “unwanted love woe is me” baggage that he haul underneath his easy going boy next door persona, and which caused a lot of dragging dramatic melodrama halfway through the story, which I sympathise in the beginning but got me an irritated aftertastes afterwards🤨
Mr nice guy Bridge on the other hand comes off too nice and naive underneath his ruggedly handsome cowboy swagger, to the point that I was cheering for him to actually hightailed his way out permanently after Eric dump him, I mean come on Bridge, you can do better, way better, but I change my mind after I try to see things from Eric perspective and the story gets a bit better after that😆
Overall the story is good, not great, but good enough to pass into better after listening and digesting the story overnight, I deducted one star off bcuz of Eric wishy washy drama😝
The narrator is quite new to me, but I like his gruff deep voice for Bridge which really suited his whole rugged cowboy personality in the story☺️and the narrator quick change to Eric more higher tone is very good, I can easily distinguish between both characters easily, good job on his part👍
I think if you a fan of cowboys GFY MM romance with the emphasis on cowboys and GFY tropes and themes then this story is for you🤓👍
