Acerca de esta escucha

Lest We Forget is a rare look inside the experience of an Army Ranger medic. Leo Jenkins tells the compelling true story of what it takes to become and operate as a special operations medic during the height of the global war on terrorism. The book includes detailed accounts of a number of many combat operations, including the search and rescue operation for the US Navy SEALS who were compromised in the mountains of Afghanistan during Operation Redwings. Take a look inside the US special operations medical course as the author trains for the reality of combat in Iraq and Afghanistan.

It seems that everyone in the military writes a book. Some are great, some average and others suck. Leo Jenkins writes a great book full of genuine humor and small words that even a dumb Marine like me can understand. Good stuff Leo! RLTW

Great story not just only about a SOCOM Ranger medic but also gives you a look into the lives of the Ranger family. From training, both tactical and medical, to the rigors of war/deployments it really captivates you. As a former Ranger Medic myself, it brought me back to the training and the brotherhood that is established when at war. GREAT BOOK, GREAT LISTEN!

I just finished this book. I lay on my back having trouble sleeping. I go to MEPS the day after tomorrow. My MOS is reserved as 68W option 40, the exact MOS Leo lived. I found this book, and am beyond grateful. It classified so much of the unknown. Inspired me beyond belief, and made me laugh quite hard.

Leo, unsure if you'll read this, but I thank you with a depth I cannot convey in writing. I hope to follow in your own and the many heavy footsteps of greater men than I, and thanks to you, I do so with greater conviction. Hope you are well.

True perspective, true inspiration.

I felt like I was standing there with him. They say you live and die with a great character. I felt every jolt, every flight. Well expressed.

I really enjoyed the narrative of the military training and service. The other forty percent of the book reads like a record of a frat member's exploits. Yes. There are Rangers who get drunk and tear up the town on a regular basis just like any other group of people. I had my days off doing stupid things when I was younger, but it's not something that I'm proud of. The author seems as proud of his wild nights on the town as he is of his time in service. I didn't feel like the stories of drunken, idiotic "adventures" had any part in a book whose focus is supposed to be on life as a Ranger medic. This deems especially true when the author was fortunate he wasn't convicted by civilian law enforcement as he likely would have been released for standard for his poor "representation" of the 75RR.
This could have been a very good story of a Ranger medic's military service had there not been so much focus on inebriated partying.

Military stories are informative

the hardest part about explaining what its like to deploy and live soldiers is putting it in words that describe and honor your brothers. Leo Jenkins does just that. No soldier has the exact same experience and he sums up what's it's like to embrace the suck and deploy again. and again. and again. a must listen to for service members and family's.

closest you can get to living it.
