Leon and the Spitting Image is about a hotel full of animals. It's about an evil ice maker. It's about glass eyeballs and human catapults. It's about really old panty hose and Possibly Fake Hair.

But mostly it's about Leon Zeisel and his epic quest to survive fourth grade. What's stopping him? Two things. First, there's Miss Hagmeyer. She's a supernaturally strict teacher with ears that resemble giant rotting mushrooms. And then there is Leon's archenemy, Lumpkin the Pumpkin, a human tank with a deadly dodgeball throw known to all as the sidewinder.

Luckily, Leon has two friends, Lily-Matisse and P.W., who will stand by him no matter what -- even if his magical, mysterious plans for rescue and revenge involve . . . SPIT!

My kids loved it and so did we

My two kids ages 6 & 8 listened to this story over a few month's of long car rides. We all loved the tale. It was funny, clever, and contemporary so everyone could "relate" to the language. I especially like how the author captured kid-sized errors in judgement and learning moments. To an adult the narrator is a little too in-your-face, but my kids were able to follow along quite well, so he earns a postive from me. A great book.

When he controls miss Hagemier with the doll

I left how fun and exciting the book was. I think it’s great for all ages. I just like when he says the big fat about somebody.

Very Funny

The kids loved this one. Gets a little strange at the end for grownups but the kids have listened to it more than once.

Story is cute,Naration awful

The story is cute, but narator is just awful, awful, awful.
Enough said.
