Publisher's summary

In every generation, certain writers are chosen to be protectors of The Legendarium, a metaphysical library that exists at the nexus of the multiverse. Inside this library are doorways that lead to every world ever created in literature. There are forces of evil constantly at work to destroy the library and send the world back into an age of darkness. Now, in a time of growing illiteracy, two heroes are chosen to defend The Legendarium. Bombo Dawson, newly published author and the hero of Michael Bunker's novella Hugh Howey Must Die!, and Alistair Foley, aspiring author and Bombo's harshest critic, become unlikely partners in a mission to protect The Legendarium. Their adventures will take them across the worlds of literature, but will hostile enemies learn to work together before the accumulated knowledge of all of humanity is lost forever?

But. But. I want more!

Liked the concept and how it was told, great perrormance. I just thought it ended too quickly, there should have been more stories, more worlds, and not just the quick fix at the end.

Amusing !

I found it hilarious, amusing, remarkably witty; Bombo & Alistair are two characters that I loved to meet. The audible performance is great !

It's okay

I thought this would be better than it actually was, what with the star power behind it. What a disappointment.

Great fun!

What does Robert Rossmann bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Robert Rossmann's inflections and voice did the story justice.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

This book made me laugh out loud over and over again. I love humor and irony that make this story so entertaining!

Any additional comments?

While anyone will enjoy and appreciate this story, anybody who enjoys writing or who aspires to be an author will find this story particularly entertaining. I highly recommend it!

Self Publishing a book, GREAT JOB! Story... meh

Would you try another book from Kevin G. Summers and Michael Bunker and/or Robert Rossmann?

I'm a storyteller myself and know how much work goes into creating a book, and in the time frame it sounds like they accomplished this at the end is impressive. However I felt the characters were flat, from donuts to insults, it is a fine way however, when that is mostly their dialog half way through the book. It becomes a touch drab and you want more from the character.

That said I'd like to learn more about the legendarium, and the adventures surrounding it.

What could Kevin G. Summers and Michael Bunker have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

The characters of Bombo and Alastair seemed flat and very single or two dimensional. When I wanted more from them depth wise.

What about Robert Rossmann’s performance did you like?

Yes I appreciate his ability to make characters differentiated with very distinct voices.

Do you think Legendarium needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

I would like to learn more about the legendarium and the adventures surrounding it.

Waaay Too Short!

This was my first encounter with Summers' and Bunker's writing, and it left me yearning for more! The absolutely intriguing premise is delightfully developed through the interactions and antics of the characters, with really clever twists in the plot. I came away from this listen smiling, and contemplating just how the literary efforts of every author that ever was or will be eventually share some shelf space in the Legendarium, whether we know it or not!

A book for writers

Unlike books by Jasper Fforde this book is too obsessed with what writers think about the publishing process. For the most part it a good book but it sacrifices plot for the purpose of critiquing the publishing industry and defending the self publishing process. Buy only if on sale.

A bit bizarre.

Would you try another book from Kevin G. Summers and Michael Bunker and/or Robert Rossmann?

I am not sure. This book was mildly entertaining but did not develop the gripping hold on me that a good book should.

If you’ve listened to books by Kevin G. Summers and Michael Bunker before, how does this one compare?

This was my first.

Which scene was your favorite?

The Moby Dick scenario was probably the best.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

Probably not although it might make a better movie than book.

Any additional comments?

The book was a bit corny and folksy which I think was intended by the authors but the story did not rise to a level that carried off the informality of the characters.
