A good story killed by the narrator

I will admit, the thing that drew me to this was the picture and that it was in the superhero category. Now, I'm not sure if I need to just read the actual book, because the story seems interesting, but the narrator makes it hard keep listening. I'm not sure it's an AI or an actual person, but their narration is so monotone it's feel like I was listening to a news report. Also, their is almost no discernment from when they start a new chapter and end another. I really wanted to like this one, but I don't even think I can finish listening to it with this narrator.
