Mispronunciations

I like that there are many word lists. The problem is the narration. Angel Wright, the woman who's reading the lists, sounds like a native Chinese speaker; however, she isn't speaking standard Chinese. Beginners may not be able to tell the difference. Examples of non-standard Chinese are saying something in the wrong tone and confusing "s" with "sh," "c" with "ch," "z" with "zh," "in" with "an," "xi" with "qi," etc. She also pronounces the character "di," that's used to mean "land," "di" when it's used to convert a word into an adverb. It should be pronounced "de" in this case. (Chinese has characters that have multiple pronunciations depending on the meaning. The character "di" that's used to mean "land" is one of them.) In regard to English, Angel's pronunciation is so bad that many times she sounds like she's saying a completely different word. For example, "Spanish" for "spinach," "peer" for "pear," "force" for "fox," and "shape" for "sheep." I was listening to this audio in my car. I could figure out the English from the Chinese; however, there are too many pronunciation issues for the Chinese words for me to continue using the audible. I'll be making flashcards out of the written lists.

Read aloud dictionary

It is simply a read-aloud dictionary. I am a bit surprised that it has that many perfect 5/5/5 star ratings, It fills it purpose, and I think it could be useful as a background listening material, but there are definitely more engaging ways to study the Chinese language.

Southern China pronunciation

The lady that performs the studio is probably from southern China and has incorrect pronunciation on many words. If you understand the common pronunciation problems southern Chinese make, you can recognize when it is incorrect.

I don't like it it doesn't sound like it's human

I would like a return of credit I just bought this and I don't like the style of narration.

simply a narrated English-Chinese dictionary. No method introduced to digest the ingredients and the narrator speaks poor English.

This is a really good and thorough course in the language. Recommended for the active people who want to be productive and learn a language simultaneously while driving or doing some other activities.
