Publisher's Summary

The best leaders know that the secret to successful leadership lies in earning the respect of the others; leading through fear will never provide your followers with the motivation they need to assist you in reaching any target.

Do you want to feel more in control of your life? Do you want to feel more confident and have a higher sense of self-esteem? Do you want to exert more influence on those around you, whether in your personal, romantic, or work life?

Are you in a position of leadership in some area of your life but don't feel fully equipped to take on the responsibility? Do you want to know exactly how you can become a more effective leader?

There are a lot of things that a good leader should be. Aside from excelling in his or her field of choice, it is just as important to have excellent interpersonal skills and high emotional quotient in order to deal with people of different personalities. Being persuasive, confident, and flexible are some other traits a good leader should possess.

Just some of the questions and topics covered include:

  • Honest and integrity
  • Goal-oriented thinking
  • Communication skills
  • Inspiring others
  • Motivating others
  • And much, much more!

Instead of putting up with your mundane lifestyle, take a step into the shoes of successful leaders and become one. This audiobook tells you how this can happen and where you need to start. The qualities that we have described in the audioook are those that set normal people apart from extraordinary people. If you would rather turn the other way and continue doing what you do, then this won’t be the audiobook for you. However, if you are fed up with watching as others reap all of the rewards, then this audiobook can show you the qualities you need and explain them to you in an understandable way so you are set on the course of success.

This audiobook provides techniques and courses of action for anyone wishing to become a superhuman leader. I hope you take the time to listen through the chapters and integrate the insights you’ve gained into your day-to-day affairs.

All you need is a willingness to learn, implement the ideas, and a small dose of patience for things to get rolling in your favor.

EXCELLENT BOOK!!

This book really taught me some new perspectives on working with people in an enjoyable narrative format! This may be one of the best books on leadership I have ever read. It certainly rang a chord within me and has prompted me to begin a leadership training program at my job using some of the examples from this book as the basis.

Great leadership tool.

Very interesting reflections about the practice of leadership and its challenges and dangers. It is a must for any one who has to live a leadership process. This was assigned in a class and I was skeptical. However it has become one of my favorites. I loved listening to the audio version while exercising and discussing with classmates.

Daring Communication

I have begun listening to the Audible version today after waiting so long since finishing Extreme Ownership. It is rare for an audio book to be so well delivered by the authors, but these guys nail it! Getting into the details of the dichotomy is going to be so helpful for me as a classroom teacher because every day is about careful balance, I recommend Extreme Ownership to anyone who asks, and so far this sounds like it's going to be right up there

Great perspectives on leadership

I'm listen these texts for a leadership course and they are very interesting articles. They can be very useful for learning leadership techniques that people can use in their everyday lives but are biased towards business and organizational leadership instead of social or Civic leadership.

General Whelden has written a must-listen

Really great book on the ins and outs dos and don’t of leadership. Very well described intentions and consequences. As a current business owner it’s very important to pour into myself and make sure I’m giving the best to my business and clients.

Challenges you to do better.

By drawing the distinction between an adaptive versus a technical challenge the authors help me step back and be more conscious of my thoughts and attitudes. Greatly enjoyed the book. This book is a great insight into leadership. It explains that leadership is not perfect that something you must practice everyday. Finally it describes that as a leader you must take care of yourself and gives some insightful hints.

Leadership Defined!!

Really good book for any leadership position, it teaches and inspire leaders to be better leaders, with great insights and examples. The book is written well and is easy to follow. Also like the hands on and case studies parts the best. I would recommend this book to individuals wanting to mature in self and team leadership. Learning strong morals and virtues in behaviors to build on confidence toward ethics for overall leadership qualities.

seems dated.

Some useful ideas but totally infuriating to here leaders referred to as 'he, him' etc - makes it seem dated.

Pivotal book in my life !!!!!!

Book arrived in good condition, brand new. The book itself is incredibly insightful. A light reading which disguises the complicated psychology of human interaction beneath a fun, attention holding story of a man working at a new company, the likes of which implements a sort of emotional intelligence training for all employees. After becoming increasingly frustrated and disillusioned about certain close relationships I've just re read this book

A MUST LISTEN FOR ANY LEADER!!!

Mel Blenchard has knocked it out of the park with this book. I received an Advanced listen Copy of the book and have since picked up 2 more hard cover copies. This book is nearly impossible to put down and is packed with current and relevant information for today’s leaders. I loved the chapter on Team Uniformity to Team Diversity as well as the chapter on the Communication Shift. This book is essential for anyone in a leadership position. Mel Blenchard delivers some hard truths, but also inspires hope for the future of collaborative leadership.

Concise, powerful advice. Every version improves.

The authors have updated their classic leadership book to address all the current challenges leaders face today in a world of growing distrust, the resulting loss of credibility at the executive levels, relationship building, retention of top talent, leading through disruption and change. The sixth edition of this classic of leadership literature is just as impactful as the third edition, which I had as a text in graduate school. I used this for a course I'm piloting this semester and the content kept the students thoroughly engaged. Almost every paragraph in this book had me underline something. This was required for a course I took and I will listen it again! So good! ...

An Inspired Way to be a Leader!

I’ve never felt so empowered as a leader after reading this. I’d recommend for anyone throughout any level within an organization, as well as anyone with direct reports who’s ever felt like they don’t have what if takes, also any leader navigating through seemingly uncharted waters in an ever-evolving diverse workplace culture. i recommended this book.

Well Written and Informative

I'm a consultant and was thrown into change management position. This book has been a lifesaver. I've used it countless times to remind myself what to do and to draft materials for my client. I wish there were more in here on metrics; the text doesn't have many practical tips on evaluating implementation and setting performance measures. I have read many Leadership books over the years, but this book is a “must-have” in your leadership arsenal. Jitter lays out a pathway to change and explains why deviating from this path results in things we see every single day in business.

Shifts Can rock your World!

As a young professional (aka Millennial), this is a MUST have book even if you are leading a team or not. If we wanted to see the change in our workplace, community, and in our household, we need to transform our self first before we can transform and see the change around us John Maxwell has knocked it out of the park with this book. I received an Advanced listen Copy of the book and have since picked up 2 more hard cover copies. This book is nearly impossible to put down and is packed with current and relevant information for today’s leaders.

The authors have updated their classic leadership book to address all the current challenges leaders face today in a world of growing distrust, the resulting loss of credibility at the executive levels, relationship building, retention of top talent, leading through disruption and change. My pastor recommended this book to me because of some voluntary duties I had recently taken on at church. While reading the book, I could understand how leaders are everywhere even if they are not bestowed with an official title

Solid Update for a Leadership Classic .

The sixth edition of this classic of leadership literature is just as impactful as the third edition, which I had as a text in graduate school. This was required for a course I took and I will read it again! So good!! The concepts in here are useful not just for the workplace, but for all of life. Very well communicated and they give good points of view from experienced people who have put these principles into practice.

starsExcellent Resource for the Serious Student.

Most of the textbooks that I get from classes I resale but this book is a keeper. If you have any questions regarding leadership styles or methods this book gives great examples and details. It presents real life scenarios and how different leadership styles play in those scenarios.Bought this book for a grad level college course and will be keeping for reference. Northouse does a wonderful job of breaking down various leadership styles and methods for those who are trying to find their own leadership style.
