Publisher's summary

Merrick Albright, a former military officer, is now a salty sheriff’s deputy who is frustrated and sickened by the current state of the United States and its ongoing political soap opera. He feels helpless to effect change on a national level and focuses on bettering his community by putting one bad guy behind bars at a time.

After a series of coordinated nationwide terrorist attacks, the United States drifts into chaos. Police and other first responders scramble to keep control, but the divided and frustrated nation sinks lower as cities riot to the point that crime can’t be contained.

What can Merrick do when law and order are a thing of the past? He must fight to keep those he cares about alive, but he cannot do it alone.

the only thing lawless is merrick

This story is pure fantasy with piles of burdensome logistics. it should be called, merrick: logistics. audio books is not rare advanced technology. better not be hispanic, crossdressing, crazy, block an intersection, or try to steal eggs or merrick will kill you. his infinite carisma level is so high he pursuades his wife and chief to allow his own young son into a warzone. everyone admires merrick. dont worry, if you have ptsd you just need to kill more people and itll be fine, merrick consoles us. merrick stops bloodrages, cures karens, and always knows just what to do about the nessessities of life, food, water, and community watch, though the front gate technique should be removed from the story becasue its never important again as the very next moment with the chickens overrides his front gate watch argument. merrick takes down community officers, bad reqruits, bad principles, bad military, and bad governance with always prepared constitutional arguments, you cant beat this guy, you will just end up appologizing to merrick that you were wrong. poor merrick burdened with all of this glory just feels so hampered becasue he is just that good and juxtapositions his goodness by retreating into his family life, which remains undisturbed throughout the "collapse". dont worry, merrick will know what to say. finally after being so notible and defensive his whole life merrick adopts the very philosophy of the gang of thugs he beats up in the first chapter with this concept, "we have to hit them before they hit us" and "it was either him or us" style philosophies. if merrick would just slow down a minute and give actual people a chance to be decent people, they wohldnt have to die. oh my. this book. you will enjoy the mirth and unstoppable merrick. a literal superman, but not good like superman was. ;^] be prepared. at least that part was good. cheers.
