Publisher's Summary

A twist of fate!

William Cook enjoyed serving the town as a lawman until a tragic accident took everything he loved. Wanting to leave his past behind, he turns to bounty hunting, enjoying the constant distraction - and the money isn’t too bad either. When he suffers a life-threatening injury, he is forced to stay put for longer than he is used to doing. The woman who tends his wounds intrigues him, but he isn’t looking for love after what happened the first time.

Emma Stewart recently lost her husband and has moved back in with her widowed father, the town doctor. While she likes helping him heal the sick, she still longs for a family of her own, so no one is more surprised than she is when she starts to develop feeling for the bounty hunter, who hides his heart of gold behind a rugged exterior.

Can Emma offer William a reason to stay? Can William find a way to heal from his broken past to start a future with Emma? Or will a haunting secret take away all the possibilities of this budding romance?

An enjoyable short story

• This was a western Christian short story.
• The characters had pleasant personalities, but lacked depth. This may be due to the short length of this story.
• The narrator had a pleasant voice and I enjoyed the story.
• This story had a satisfying ending.
• I did not find this western Christian historical romance preachy. But it is very religous. Religion was just a natural part of the characters' lives.

At my request, I was given a free copy of this audiobook from the author. I have voluntarily left my review and my opinions were my own.

Clean, sweet Christian Old-West Romance

Story: 3 stars

A sweet, quick story about two widowed people who find love again. Good Christian values and teachings.

Narration: 3.5 stars

The narrator has a nice authentically-western -sounding voice. He did well with the women’s voices and did ok on the little girl’s voice (can any adult really do justice to a little girl’s voice? I have yet to hear it accomplished in an audiobook.) I’d happily listen to him narrate again.

A great western love affair

I love women audio western is read by man it is easier to imagine yourself falling in love in the great west under trying circumstances that shouldn’t really be that trying because it should be something you’re used to but I digress I love a book now rated by a cowboy and this cowboy was awesome. When it comes to audiobooks the narrator really makes or breaks the story this was a great story and the narrator made it that much better. I recommend this book to anyone who loves westerns, romance and especially good hearted cowboys or rather bounty hunters. I gave it five stars across-the-board and a dessert everyone of them if not more.

Second Chance at Love Historical Western Romance

This was a second chance at love historical western romance. Emma and William’s spouses were both killed by criminals. Even though she’s attracted to him, she’s reluctant to act on it because like her husband he works at lawman job and she fears losing another loved one to that life. Her ex Carl keeps coming around and while he would be safe choice, he’s not the one her heart wants. When William discovers how her husband died, he feels guilty. Can they get past this to be together? There was plenty of suspense with bad guys to catch and injuries to recover from and sweet romance.

The narrator had a soothing tone with voice changes for the different characters. I tried speeding it up, but that made his speech too fast.

Another Great Novel by Lorana

I found myself enjoying this book very much. Again, a believable storyline for the time period. I loved again that characters weren't afraid to let their faith show and that William was able to mend his relationship with God. I loved Jenny in this story, such faith and wisdom for a young child... but I guess those living in that time period grew up quickly.

Lawfully Justified A Great Christian Read

Lawfully Justified is a great read. The narrator was a joy to listen to. William and Emma's story was about the power to forgive and I love the Christian themes throughout. The only downside it wasn't long enough. I wanted more to their story ha ha. I would recommend to others.
