Much-adored historical mystery writer Elizabeth Peters immerses her fetching heroine Vicky Bliss into an indubitably beguiling situation - this time in the antiquated realm of the laughing dead kings. A spectacular performance by narrator Barbara Rosenblat - Peters’ personal favorite - complements this delightful mystery.

Solidly entertaining and Sneakily fabulous
What did you love best about Laughter of Dead Kings?
the surprise introduction of the author herself as a cameo part. Brilliant!
What other book might you compare Laughter of Dead Kings to and why?
Its a bit hard to compare Vikky Bliss to anyone except herself because she is in a class that is all her own but expect the sass of Stephanie Plum, the strength of Eve Dallas and the wit of Amelia Peabody. The perfect mix
Which character – as performed by Barbara Rosenblat – was your favorite?
Vikky. And maybe Schmidt.....he really is fabulous!
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
it made me giggle to myself so many times that the other people at the gym now think I am crazy. It was the perfect thing to listen to during the routines dreamed up by my sadistic Personal Trainer.

Thrilling tale of mummies and swords and lingerie.
The sixth and final Vicky Bliss story sees Vicky and her boyfriend John having to track down a missing mummy which has been stolen from the tomb of Tutankhamen for some mysterious reason. Of course Schmidt is involved too, and this might be his finest hour. This is my favourite of the Vicky Bliss series, and Barbara Rosenblat is a superb narrator, she is perfect as Vicky and all the other voices are excellent, though she has to tackle a variety of accents. Great fun
Thoroughly enjoyed this book, so much I've listened more than once.
Elizabeth Peters writes great stories and Barbara Rosenblat, as narrator, couldn't be better, she brings all the characters to life.
I enjoyed the way the author had written herself into the story and was gratified at the link to the Amelia Peabody stories.
Such a pity that there are not more Vicky Bliss series on AudibleUK.
