Great spooky read with an amazing story line

The start of the book had people coming up missing when visiting a small island, called Latham's Landing, the story builds on the mystery of the island as more and more go missing. Those trapped on the island serve a purpose that only the island needs.

It was a great read, I was intrigued all the way through.

Survey Says....

Don't go to Latham's Landing!! Seriously though, it's a spooky and dangerous place where few survive.

I liked the idea of three stories, sharing a setting, across time periods, that combine to make one twisting narrative. Jennifer Fournier does a superb job of bringing each character to life and drawing me into the stories. I'd recommend this one to anyone who enjoys paranormal content, this one lives just outside of the box!

Wow!!!

I loved this book! I haven't listened to any others by this author however this one was great. This book is like three books, or stories, but they are all connected to the same location. Latham's Landing is an island mansion that is rumored to be haunted. There have been many disappearances there and also a few unexplained deaths. Each section in the book tells of a different individuals story and purpose for going to the island. One for adventure and to figure out what happened to a distant relative, another for a school project to determine what the emotion fear really is, and lastly for plain and simple revenge. I really loved this book and the characters. It had the right amount of suspense and each story left you wanting more. The narration was great! I hope to see more like this by this author! Interesting Horror Trifecta

This is an interesting package as there's three individual stories taking place chronologically in the same location 'latham's landing'. As things go on different people have their experiences in the haunted halls of the titular place. What's interesting is that this allows the author and therefore the readers to explore the way things go over time and see how a place changes over the years. The 'evil presence' does vary over time and it's cool to see the progression as well as the way the different characters deal with what's happening.

Island of Horror

Latham's Landing is a well written book written with three distinct stories that easily meld together forming one twisted paranormal ghost story. I recommend this book to anyone who loves paranormal tales.

Latham"s Landing review

Horror short stories at their best, along with a great narrator made listening to this all the worthwhile. Both the characters and writing enjoyable, likeable, and five stars. A great, promising author.

Two out of 3 isn't bad!

This audiobook contains 3 short stories that all revolve around "Latham's Landing". They are chronological, so past events get referenced and built upon. You don't HAVE to read them in order, but seems silly not to.

The first story is more like the "intro" as we get some background on Latham's Landing to go along with the actual excursion there. It's sufficiently creepy and well-done tale overall.

The second story takes place some years after the first and ratchets up the supernatural. It was easily my favorite of the 3 with a twist I should have seen coming, but didn't, making for a very pleasant surprise.

The last story is broken into parts. It comes across like it may have been written over time, perhaps as blog entries. The tone between the parts changes and a couple of times, characters started being called by different names Caroline sometimes became Carol and vice versa, even in the narration).

The first part of story #3 had me excited. We had Caroline off to avenge her boyfriend and take Latham's Landing down with extreme prejudice. I was hooked!

After that though, things started to get less supernatural and more "human" with flesh and blood bad guys on top of new random supernatural entities. This really took away from the feeling of the series for me and began the end of my enjoyment. By the final part, the story only vaguely resembled its original self and felt overshadowed by all the additional elements introduced into the world on top of it. Easily my least favorite. It's a shame that was my parting experience with the anthology.

The narration was well-done and helped carry the stories along.

I was provided this audiobook free of charge and although the last story was easily the worst, I can recommend for the first two alone.
