good story, dragged a bit in the middle

i lost interest part way through and read another book before coming back to finish. it was ok enough.

Loved it

I loved this. Listened to it twice. I especially loved Travis. Really likable character. I hope the other books in the series get uploaded to audio.

I honestly LOVED IT. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I read A LOT of romances but this was something special. Loved the narration, the story, and especially our male main character. He was so.. everything!✨
She was pretty great too most of the time, but I must admit that I didn't like the fact that he was so insecure about himself and she did almost nothing to correct him, especially when they had their final talk, as though she was special and he was only lucky to have her. that's the only problem I really had with this book, because everything else was really good! loved their conversations, their storyline with Duke, their little slice of heaven and the sex scenes were awesome and finally realistic (he is mr. "consent" which never hurts) thank you for this story ❤️❤️❤️

Really Loved It!!

Loved this book, it was a very cozy read. Loved both the main characters and their love felt natural and real. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Surprisingly excellent book

I sort of thought this would be one of those books that would be good but would lack something in terms of plot and world building. Turns out I was wrong, the book was great. I really liked the characters, strong but respectful, they all had flaws but they were well developed and interesting. The world building was excellent, just enough to make the whole backdrop believable, but nothing was pointlessly belaboured.
I really really enjoyed this book, would love more in this series.

Third time listener

I've always enjoyed apocalyptic style stories but this one is my favorite over all of them. It has changed what I choose for books now. It was always end of the world or female detective books but now it's all romance from here on out. Kent really knows how to engulf you into the story. Escorted is another one she wrote that I love. The narrator does an epic job doing both female and male voices.

I'll be honest I'm a wimp when it comes to suspense, so the dangerous apocalyptic backdrop of this book had me constantly on edge. You can expect to see the weirdos and degenerates that always pop up in an apocalypse fiction, and all of the scary miscalculations (that scene where the jeep couldn't get traction... yikes). Yet, I still can't imagine a sweeter, more organic love story than the one between Travis (H) and Layne (h). They are two people who wouldn't have been friends in the regular world, but slowly become everything to each other when things fall apart. I really enjoyed that concept. Not only the physical ruin, but the power of a paradigm shift (an apocalypse of the mind), as these two go from small town mechanic and sometime client, to wary travelling companions, to saving each other's lives, to tentative friends, to confidants, to lovers, to deeply in love.

There's a loyalty and honesty in this story that most romances can't find. Partly because of the life and death stakes, but mostly because all of the unimportant things were stripped away,

I listened in one day! If you like post apocalyptic books and great love stories this book is the perfect blend of both!! I was actually sad when it ended, I feel like I am going to miss them. I highly recommend this book!
