Critic Reviews

"Pimsleur programs provide plenty of positive reinforcement that will keep learners on track, and we found that Pimsleur gave us more proficiency and confidence in speaking the new language than any of the other language programs we reviewed." (AudioFile magazine)

Helpful

I do like these lessons but wish I was allotted a little more time to come up with the answers as I frequently feel rushed. I think it is also problematic not to know how the words are spelled as I am a visual learner and wish there was a workbook to accompany it.

A Top Option

This is an effective and efficient language program. I personally have gained more from this method than the others I have previously tried. In my opinion, it is a beneficial approach for an individual who took Spanish in school and needs a brush up instead of starting from an empty platform. I highly recommend this.

Excellent program but..

Any additional comments?

This program is so effective and very enjoyable. Its a really good way to learn spanish. However they dont use 'tu' forms at all. i bought the books until the end of unit 2 but so little use 'tu' forms in conversations. always using 'usted' form. we are not that polite in real life. :)

The only way to learn Spanish

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

This is an excellent way to learn Spanish. I've only been doing it for about three months and I'm beginning to feel I can understand some native conversations. It's fun!

Perfect way to learn Spanish

So the first few chapters are easy peasy, then it starts getting hard. I found from reading these reviews that quizlet has each chapter, just search for the Pimsleur and whatever chapter you are on. They have great info to supplement the audio books, I listen to a chapter, then I do the quizlet and then I listen again before moving to the next chapter.

Good, but costly

I have enjoyed the first four books of this series. However, because each year is divided into five books, it is expensive. I wish each book was twice as long. There is no reason to have only two and a half hours on each book. If you buy the textbook, you get a $100 credit towards the audio, which would cover most of it though.

muy megusta!

hablo despacio, pedo megusta Español! I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to speak Spanish. I've received compliments from Mexicans on my accent, that's a pretty good indication that it's working!

Good review

Helpful as adjunct to intro Spanish course, good practice while commuting. Audio is clear, native speakers.

Regret

Audible will not send the updated (matching) written document and although Pimsleur provided Audible with the document in question, they have NOT provided it to me. I've had a Case # opened for months but nobody at Audible seems to care.
I cannot picture the spelling due to either my own disabilities or simply an inability to ascertain the start and stop of a word or the conjugation.
I'll never know.
I regret spending money and using my monthly allotment on furthering this education when I cannot get past #18.
Does anyone care of will this honest review be deleted and everyone cat like nothing is wrong.
Just just be me?

Just Missing Minimal Visual Aid

Where does Spanish Level 1 Lessons 16-20 rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It is very well designed and recorded, and could be used while you are driving or walking. Example of optimal usage of audio...But lack of any visual materials doesn't allow for people, like me, who can not digest material without seeing some of it, make it much less effective. As the result I am creating my own flash cards from listening... too much work......

Great course, but demanding

The grammar, syntax and vocabulary become progressively more challenging. You may have to repeat several times to grasp pronunciation of some words. This is Latin American Spanish. There may be some differences from European language.
