The emphasis is on pronunciation and comprehension and on learning to speak Norwegian.
Reading lessons are included at the end of lesson 30. These lessons, which total about one hour, are designed to give you practice reading Norwegian. You'll be reading words, phrases, and short sentences using familiar vocabulary as well as new vocabulary regarding useful topics such as food, travel, shopping, communication, and more. A reading booklet to be used with the audio lessons is also included in PDF format.
The Norwegian Language
Norwegian is spoken by approximately 5 million people, primarily in Norway, although there are some speakers in Denmark, Sweden, Germany, the UK, Spain, Canada, and the United States. It is closely related to Swedish and Danish. In Norway, no official standard of spoken Norwegian exists, and there are hundreds of spoken dialects. Generally, the dialects are mutually intelligible. Because of the great number of dialects spoken in Norway, there are variations in pronunciation from place to place to place. In the Pimsleur program, we adhere as closely as possible to the pronunciation of the inhabitants of Oslo, the capital of Norway.

Så trist det er over / Som sad it's over
Jeg skulle ønsker at det var flere leksjoner. Jeg har likt å lære norsk så mye. Jeg håper jeg kan fortsette å lære mer nå at jeg har et godt grunnlag takket være Pimsleur. Jeg anbefaler det til alle som ønsker å lære et nytt språk av en eller annen grunn.
I wish that there were more lessons. I have enjoyed learning Norwegian so much. I hope I can continue to learn more now that I have a good foundation thanks to Pimsleur. l highly recommend it to anyone who wants to learn a new language for any reason.
