Garrison Keillor is the consummate storyteller, gifted with the rare ability, both in print and in performance, to hold an audience spellbound with his tales of ordinary people whose lives contain extraordinary moments of humor, tenderness, and grace. This exclusive recording of Garrison Keillor reading a carefully edited abridgement of the book also includes a few segments taken from live performances recorded during a fundraising tour for public radio stations in 1985.©1985 Garrison Keillor (P)1986 Minnesota Public Radio Contemporary Fiction Funny Genre Fiction Witty

Great memories of my own past days, even though it is all a fantasy. Fun stories.

I have so say, I amost didn't make it past the first chapter -- Man, it is slow. Once I got past it, I loved pretty much everything after it. Garrison Keillor reads it like a champ. I have listened to it many times, and still laugh at the residents of Lake Wobegon. If you can get past the first chapter, I think you will like this book, too.

There’s little that can improve upon these lake Wobegon tales. It’s a short but good read and reminds one of the highs and lows and mistakes of life.

Brilliant

The first time I read the book I laughed out loud...his characters are so rich I felt I knew them.
To hear the stories read by him is a wonderful experience!
