Publisher's summary

Lachlan MacTaggart is hot, Scottish, and dangerous - to a woman's heart.

I'm done with love. My ex-wife made sure of that. When my American friend offers to swap houses with me for a month, I can't say no. Chicago sounds like the perfect place for a holiday, until I find out there's a sexy American lass living next door.

Erica Teague is bonnie, clever, and as wounded as I am. But I won't ask her why. All I need is Erica in my bed for four weeks, no strings, just a summer fling. We won't talk about our pasts, our lives, or anything except sex.

That's the plan. But the woman who's too young for me is determined to crawl under my skin and expose everything.

Lachlan in a Kilt is the first book in The Ballachulish Trilogy, a brand-new series based on the first three books in the best-selling Hot Scots series, reborn and retold from the heroes' perspectives.

Lachlan's POV!

I wasn't very happy with Lachlan's single-mindedness through the beginning of the book, I did eventually change my mind on how I felt about his actions. I feel like I should have read Dangerous in a Kilt to get the full circle relationship with Erica and Lachlan and why she fell for him so hard. Honestly, there were times (aside from him being so hot) that I was trying to understand why she even liked him in the first place.
All that being said, I did enjoy this book very much even if I wasn't happy with Lachlan at times. I mean, who doesn't love a good hot Scot?
John Hartley is fairly new to me as a narrator and he did a really great job voicing Lachlan and Erica.

Enjoyed listening to this one!

This is a good story. These two want only one thing from each other…a4 week affair. It morphs into something that one of them wants more from. Its a pretty basic story of a romance between these two. One thing that makes this different is that its told from the male POV. Another is that Erica has a troubled past that is not normal. Lachlan is having ex-wife problems and a fear of commitment…again. I loved the ending and all the similarities to the beginning if their relationship. Then this is the start of the McTaggart matchmaking..

I did listen to this on audio. John Hartley did an amazing job. I enjoyed listening to his accent.

Why were my chapters out of order?

This could have been a really good listen, but the chapters were out of order and I kept getting confused with the story line until I figured out the issue and listened to the chapters in order. Lachlan had too much angst for a 42 year man but he redeemed himself.
Although the story was good enough, I like to listen to my books multiple times. Since the chapters are so out of order, I'm going to return this book because it's too difficult to follow as is.
