Publisher's Summary

An unidentified man is fished out of the sea with an anchor strapped to his waist. And for DI Hal Challis, this sparks the beginning of a chilling series of shotgun killings. As Challis investigates, a farmer on the peninsula erupts into violence and is the target of a massive manhunt. excellent

really enjoy all the Garry Disher books. characters are intersting and plots and the journey always satisying. he writes strong female characters even in the very early novels and the descriptions of the austrailia in which his characters inhabit have you right there, feeling the unforgiving dry wind and hearing the crackle of dry brush. i wish I'd found these years ago. really excellent on adio because of all the above . audio reading a bit hammy im this one but manageable and more recent ones are great.

Save your money

I cannot recommend this book. The story is not only dated, the characters are also irritating. However, the narration is worse than any of this.
