Publisher's Summary

After drinking a bottle of wine, Harper tells her business rival that she recently got engaged. Once the hangover wears off, Harper realizes she now needs a fake fiancé or to admit she lied. Wanting to avoid the backlash, she asks her childhood best friend for a favor.

She can pretend she’s not in love with him, but her traitorous body reveals otherwise.

Ethan Bishop will do anything for Harper, even if it’s crazy and means risking his heart. Pretending to be engaged to the woman he’s always loved proves to be difficult - especially when repressed feelings bubble to the surface.

He only wants to help, but everyone in his life sees through his façade.

It’s hard to know what’s real or fake when their private moments turn intimate. When they cross the line and fall between the sheets, the truth is undeniable.

Just as they feared, their friendship’s no longer the same. However, one thing’s certain - there’s no going back now.

Note: Kissing the Cowboy is a complete stand-alone and can be listened to withoutlistening to any of the other audiobooks or spin-off series, but if you prefer to listen in order, start with Hitching the Cowboy as the characters and families do interconnect.

Friends to Lovers!

Ethan and Harper have been friends practically since birth. Whatever feelings they've had for each other, they've buried it deeper than six feet under. These friends have been through thick and thin together that they feel anything more will ruin something good. When Harper tells her business rival that she's engaged to Ethan, there's no way she can backtrack. Surprisingly Ethan agrees to help her through the weekend small business conference and dinner. They get teased about being a couple, prodded about when they were going to come clean about being in love with each other, encouraged that they are perfect together. Even Grandma Bishop has been waiting for this relationship to be solidified. Will their deepest fears come to fruition and ruin a perfectly good friendship or will their solid friendship lead to something more? It's Kennedy Fox. You're guaranteed an HEA. I couldn't be happier with how Ethan and Harper get theirs. They've got the whole Bishop clan rooting for them.

Lia Langola and Tor Thom really it the nail on the head with these characters! No matter which characters they are voicing in this series, they still give each one a distinct voice. That's true talent.

I received an advance copy of the e-book and a complimentary copy of the audiobook at my request and voluntarily left this review.

Did not want it to end!

The one thing I am loving is how much life that these narrators give Ethan and Harper. The story was crazy good. I am such a sucker for friends to lovers with a fake relationship thrown it. With how their relationship grows and blossoms, I could not get enough. Langola has a real knack for portraying these leading ladies that Fox writes. She gives them such a strong and fierce voice that is a force to be reckoned with. Then Thom has this flow that fits Ethan to a T! It was sweet and sassy. The chemistry is on point even throughout the audiobook! Absolute perfection!

Best friends romance done right

I am obsessed with how this story played out there was just enough going on to keep you wondering and a perfect amount of drama which we all love! I think this was a great presentation of how something like this would play out IRL and I love that. If you haven’t read all of the stories by KennedyFox I would suggest starting at the checkmate series This Is war because the books really are all intermixed so it’s so great to know the complete backstory. Happy reading you will love this and I love the set ups for the next books I can’t wait to see how those play out.

Harper and Ethan

I love how a fake engagement made them who they are now. Ethan and Harper were always meant for each other no matter who they ever dated to begin with. It was just meant to be between them.

Even Better In Audio!!!!!

These Bishops just keep getting better and better. I love Ethan's term of endearment for Harper (Love) and when Thor says it it gave me goosebumps. As always Lia and Thor did a fantastic job narrating.

I am a sucker for friends to lovers books and this one didn't! at me down. Ethan and Harper are perfect together....so what if it takes them years to admit it! This book is full of swoon worthy moments between this adorable couple and I feel lime it was over way too fast. I mean the only thing better than best friends secretly having feelings for the other is when it is a Bishop boy as one of the best friends. It does not get any better than a Bishop!!!

Amazing friends to lovers romance!

The kind of best friends to lovers story I love!

I've been itching for Ethan and Harper's story as we grew to know more about them and how close their friendship was. I absolutely loved their story and watching them both be cautious about making the jump into something more than friends, especially after they go through a fake engagement together.

There is no possibility of me ever getting sick of the Bishop and Circle B Ranch crew. I am so invested in all of their stories and the family. I can't wait to see what happens next because just based on the title and who the couple is, it's gonna be a RIDE!

Harper and Ethan!

This is a magnificently written friends to lovers book. Harper and Ethan are amazing! Thes two have been in love with each other for years and were to scared to say anything. Then Harper needs a fake fiance and Ethan is the man... Doesn't take long and they are together for real. Right amount of angst and steam. Ethan is a true caveman. Love the build of their story. Once again I adore how much the rest of the Bishop family play a role in their story. Dessert time with everyone is always a riot. This series is a definite must read.

Great friends to lovers

Harper and Ethan have grown up together and been best friends. Both have had feelings for the other but haven’t acted on it either thinking the time wasn’t right or maybe the other didn’t feel the same way. It is a slow burn friends too lovers but you can feel the connection between these two from the start. Truly enjoyed the story, a few parts I felt it was a bit slow but it may have been I just wanted them together quicker. I really loved the narrators on this one.

🤠🤠🤠🤠🤠🤠🤠

Kissing the Cowboy gave off different vibes than the other stories in the Circle B Ranch series, in the all the good ways mind you, it was refreshing to hear Ethan and Harpers story. Yes, they popped in from time to time in the other books, but Ethan is different to his hell raiser cousins, so I very much looked forward to learning more about him. The anticipation in this book was killing at times, just when I thought something was about to happen my adrenaline plunged and I found myself screaming “just do it already” until it did 😏…….Can’t wait to read what comes next. Of course listening to this book on an audio platform adds another level! I can’t work out which I like more, Kennedy Fox in paperback or Audio format?

My Thoughts on Kissing the Cowboy

I was very much looking forward to Ethan and Harper's book and now that I finally had the chance to listen to it I am pleased to say that it was well worth the wait. I loved the best friends to lovers as well as the fake engagement tropes in this book. It helped make the story line very interesting along with the other Bishop family members, a catty mean girl, and of course the HEA I crave.

The ending was just as perfect as the narration. Lia and Tor gave another excellent performance with the accents and overall tones. I would happily listen to more from them.

Harper and Ethan!

Ethan doesn’t remember a time that he wasn’t best friends with Harper, and she has always been an integral part of his life. It is the worst kept secret in his family that his feelings for her are actually those of romantic love rather than friends so no matter what she needs he will always be there for her.

Harper’s feelings for Ethan run much deeper than friends as well but she doesn’t want to do anything that could destroy the most important relationship in her life. A few drinks too many and an exaggeration about her relationship with Ethan has him pretending to be her fiancé however it is the very real feelings between them that complicates everything.

Ethan and Harper have always belonged together and seeing them realize it as well was so fun to see and it is always fun to catch up with this family and experience their relationships with each other once again. I enjoyed the depth that the narrators brought to the characters as they brought out all the angst and turmoil they were feeling.

Harper and Ethan

This book is such a great friends to lovers story.
It’s sweet how much Ethan dotes on and cares about Harper. And although she tries to deny it, she feels the same for him.

The lines get blurred after a fake engagement and neither of them can deny their feelings anymore.
It’s a story that gives you all the warm fuzzies, as well as a few laughs—let’s face it, these Bishops and their antics make for a fun time!

Plus, we got a bit more of the Grayson and Kenzie story.
Looking forward to their story!

Lia, as always, did a superb job with narration.
I felt that Tor’s accent was a little forced at times, though he still did a great job.

Superior

This author duo really do make me wanna fight anyone who says friends to lovers isn't the superior romance trope. Because it is. The pining, the longing, the angst, the stolen glances and touches. I was living for the way Ethan longed for Harper, helping her with her business and always having her back. So we have a boss small business owner, a strong, alpha goat farmer/cowboy, a wonderful family who always give it to you straight, and goats.Named after pastry treats. And the classic KF fast paced and solid writing style. What more do you want, people?? I volunteered to read and review an early copy of this. All opinions are my own.

Awesome Story & Narration🎧 Captivating & Heartfelt

Kennedy Fox continues to wow me with another fabulous romance novel set in their “Circle B Ranch” series. This has become one of my favorite cowboy series. It is easy to fall in love with the characters and their storylines are fabulously entertaining. This fifth book is Harper and Ethan’s story, they grew up together and became best friend. Their feelings for each other grew but they hid those feelings because they were afraid it would ruin what they had, a genuine true friendship. Ethan works with the goats on the ranch and Harper started her own business making soaps, she also helps her Mom out in the boutique. Her business is growing and she struggles to keep up with orders. One of her competitors is always stealing her ideas so she has to be more creative in unveiling her ideas. She winds up getting caught up in the competitive frenzy with her rival and winds up saying she is engaged so now she needs to show up at the next event with her fiancé, Ethan. Who else was she going to name, thankfully he has her back and plays the role well, in fact very well and it turned out to be a night to be remembered. The chemistry between these two was smoking hot, but Harper lets her fear stop it from going further but her fear backfires on her and she winds up ruining their friendship anyway. This is a wonderful friends to lovers romance, the story contains a lot of heart and is beautifully plotted with drama, some humor and hot loving. Kennedy Fox, thank you for another awesome story.

🎧📚🎧 And for the wonderful narration, Lia Langola and Tor Thom are talented narrators and voice artists. They continue to bring these characters to life with a complete understanding of each character they portray giving each a voice that is a perfect fit for that character’s persona, sounding believable that role and just as I picture the character to sound. You could hear how much heart they put into their work as they capture the character’s emotions and project them into their performance. These two fabulously talented voice artists are entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another fabulous listen.

Wow

Oh my. Loved this story of a boy and girl who grew up together. Always best friends. But as they grew into adults and their love only growing stronger. Neither of them willing to be the first to rock the boat and cross the line into lovers. Till a fake engagement brought it all to a head. Where emotions exploded and they were just honest with each other. Then moving onto a happily ever after. Loved the sense of family and friends in this story.
Narration was awesome too.
