Publisher's summary

Summer is finally here and geography teacher Sara Larson has exactly one month to find the perfect date for the wedding of a high school rival. The odds seem stacked against her, but the last thing she wants is to sit at the kids' table again. Or even worse, the singles' table. While trudging through an assortment of certified losers, Sara fights her attraction towards Ian, the irresistible guy next door.

Art teacher Ian McBride has a dream of opening his own gallery, but for now he's focused on sculpting a gift for his grandparents' 50th anniversary and enjoying a relaxing summer. However, Ian is blind-sided when crazy, beautiful Sara and her giant dog move in next door and rock his world. Too bad she wants nothing to do with him.

How can Sara avoid the attraction that sizzles between them and stick to her rule of not dating neighbors? As far as Ian's concerned, the prince Sara is looking for is right under her nose. And one kiss just might change everything.

Not as good as others

I like most of the books by Rich Amooi that I have listened to but this one was not a favorite. It could have had a more detailed ending.

Heartfelt and fun story.

Love the characters. Ian and Sara get off to a rocky start when Sara moves into her new townhome, not only does Sara complain about the odd noises coming from Ian’s home, but her dog Keely eats his plants. Neither of them expects their best friends to meet and get married. Now Ian and Sara wonder if they can follow their own dreams and what does that mean for them?

I'm sorry but.....

I am extremely glad I did not listen to this author's books in order. I HATED the lead female character. She is the whiniest female EVER! Outside of that, I loved Ian (especially when he put Sara in her place for her crap) and the narrator is great, but if I had heard this story before listening to the others I would not have made it to another book.

A nice lighthearted story to counteract reality

Funny, lighthearted tale of dating angst. And a dog! The story flows well and we can all relate to some of the frogs. Ian feels insecure because of family expectation, and Sara has her own issues. Thrown together by Sara's move to the condo next to Ian, they reluctantly explore the attraction. No bed-hopping here, but other realities are referenced.
Totally engaging and definitely not too long. Grabs you by the ear and won't let go.
On the other hand, Ryan does not seem the best fit as narrator. He seems to be a fine audio-performer, just not as well suited to this type of book.

Great Book!

Any additional comments?

This is a great book written by Rich Amooi and narrated by Ryan Kennard Burke. Sara Larson is a teacher, summer has just started and she moved into a new house. Sara gets a wedding invitation from her high school nemesis that she has always competed with. Now she must find the perfect date to go with her to the wedding. She meets her sexy new neighbor Ian, when she storms over to his house to tell him to stop making noise. When he opens his door she can’t believe how sexy he is. Her rule is to never date her neighbor ever again, ever since she broke up with her ex who happened to be her old neighbor that is why she had to move. The problem is the more time she spends with Ian she realizes that she is falling for him. If you are looking for a great book that has it all, romance, humor, and giant dog that eats flowers.

The narrator Ryan Kennard Burke did a great job with this book, and it was very easy to listen to. He did a great job with the different voices of each character in this book. It was very easy to listen to in one sitting and I didn’t want to stop listening until the end.

If you are looking for a great book with great characters then you need to listen to this book. I am looking forward to listening to the next book by this author and narrator.

A Review copy was provided to me in exchange for a fair and honest review. The free book held no determination on my personal review.

Couldn't Stop Listening

What a different take on the fairytale of the "Princess and Frog" and I could stop listening to this one. I am running out Rich Amooi's books to read and listen to at this rate, because they are so good.
