Great but short. Narration is fantastic.

For all my Urban Fantasy friends, this book is extremely well written. The story is great if a bit short. It feels like books 1 and 2 could just be one book. The narration is awesome. I love Nicole Poole. I wish the world were a little more detailed and the story more drawn out. I love that the main heroine is extremely strong willed and strong in body. My only complaint is as stated above. Definitely worth a credit. I see a lot of potential in this author.

A rollercoaster of precarious situations <3

Narrated perfectly but since the audio has this minor but still audible recorder vibe, I took one star off for that, it’s not at all disruptive but it is audible and well, since I have listened to many audiobooks where’s this recording noice is not audible at all, I feel it’s only fair to those to take one off with this one. But just hit that sample button and you’ll know it’s minor so nothing to worry about, it’s the same quality throughout the book.

After the devastating events that concluded book 1, Aria inherited Sanborn Place and her first case ends up being a very surprising but also very precarious one that nearly ended up killing her. And that was with the help of the pack so imagine the thing she was up against! Lovely creature though (as long as it’s nowhere near me lol), nice addition to the storyline.
But anyway, Aria, with all her fire, nearly dies. Which has some big lifechanging consequences.
A shifter will act on instinct when in animal form to not let a potential mate die and well, that’s what saved her. Although it leaves her potentially matebonded to a very powerful alpha it is the only reason she’s still alive. So of course there are mixed feelings there. Eventhough she doesn’t really like the guy. The shifter that makes the bond instantly feels like she’s his mate, within every fibre of his being, but since Aria just went from “Friend of the Pack” (an honorable and protection status given to someone outside the pack, meaning they will always be welcome in pack territory and be protected as a member of the pack) to to being bound to a powerful shifter in the blink of an eye (a very unconscious eye even) and without any preparation whatsoever.

On top of dealing with that problem, there’s Inaris and the organization trying to ignite a war between shifters and vampires.

Also, add a mysterious assault by a baby vampire, left alone by it’s maker! This is very uncommon since it takes a certain age and a whole lot of effort and skill (and luck as well since most die in transition) to turn someone into a vampire. So someone wants her dead big time if they’re willing to go to this lengths! I love the direction the story goes in after that encounter btw. I just love the whole storyline.

I love Danielle’s writing style, it is easy to read or listen to and makes for a fluent and fast paced adventure with great characters and plot twists and has great plot twists as well.
I can’t wait to get to know the rest of the story.

Part 2 was amazing! I cannot believe everything that happened and who Ari is mated to ... the Alfa Decklin( might have miss spelled) I seriously thought it would be James but I guess just friends it is. And Anaris .....what ! I am not sure what will happen with him in book 3 but im sure Ari's mom wont be happy after she finds out about the shifter kiddos. I need to grab part 3 now happy listening!

Oh Kissed By Fire!

This is the second book in the Blood and Magic series. This book picks up right where book one ended. Ari is on the hunt to find out who is trying to kill her. At the end of the first book she finds out that her mother is not actually dead. There is also an unexpected possible love triangle that is starting to develop. This book is filled with lots of action. Can't wait to see where the next book goes.

Just as good as the first book!

I really enjoyed the continuation of this series. It felt too short! I was really intrigued with where the story was going and just didn’t want it to end. It picked up exactly where the first book left off. There’s so much drama and a bit of mystery. It really kept me on my toes. The second book introduces more of a love triangle. There are definitely suitors to root for. I can’t wait until the third book comes out on audio. Nicole Poole does a great job narrating. The world continues to build out with new introduction of different supernaturals. The author does a great job keeping things fresh in this very saturated paranormal romance drama category.

better than book 1

I'm going to start with the fact that there was a relationship development I did NOT see coming! I thought I predicted how the lead female would play out her options, and...just yeah. I am quite looking forward to how this works!

There was more development into the backstory and she finally meets her mother. The book ended on a happy, feel-good note which I really like and its a moment of repreive before the next one starts the bumpy ride the author promises. I enjoyed the story and the narrator was good.

Fire

This book was as good as the first one. The characters were a little more intriguing this time too. I’m not so sure about the love triangle but I know who I’m rooting for ;) I can’t wait to see what happens with the pack and the HCA. I will definitely read the next book and I highly recommend this series. The voice for the audiobook did a great job too! Kudos to this author for writing this series.

Favorite author

With this amazing series and narrated by the talented Nicole Poole I have been captured every second! I can’t wait for the next in the series to come out on audible.
Danielle Annett is now on my favorite author list together with Dannika Dark and K. F. Breene

Great book, great series

I got the first book just because it sounded good and I love the narrator. I am happy that I did, I've been riveted and am about to get the next book. Thank you Ms. Annett, I have read more of your books and have yet to be disappointed.

Kissed by Fire

Kissed by Fire is a great sequel. Aria’s character is definitely growing. She still doesn’t know the extent of her power but little by little she’s learning about it and how to control it more.
Aria is also making progress in admitting when she needs help and allowing others to help her.
There are a few surprising developments in her story. One of them I think will be very good for Aria.
I adore Declan and how thoughtful and caring he can be. He is truly a good leader and it’s apparent in the way his pack loves and respects him.
Aria and Declan make a wonderful team. I loved the banter between the two. It definitely had me laughing out loud a couple of times.
Can’t wait to find out what happens next.

Just Keeps Getting Better

Good continuation from the first book. The story just keeps getting better. Characters are great and storyline pulls you in. This book is packed with action, danger, suspense, and even a bit of romance. Must read for all paranormal romance fans. I was given a free copy of this audiobook at my request and voluntarily leaving this honest review.
