Publisher's summary

When a 15-year-old girl is abducted by vampires, it’s up to U.S. Marshal Anita Blake to find her. And when she does, she’s faced with something she’s never seen before: a terrifyingly ordinary group of people - kids, grandparents, soccer moms - all recently turned and willing to die to avoid serving a master. And where there’s one martyr, there will be more.…

But even vampires have monsters that they’re afraid of. And Anita is one of them.…

Micah

Micah’s voice changed to an Irish accent and is way different then the previous books. I wish they tried to keep the same people reading the books or same accents if it’s the same person.

Anita can sure kick A*#!

Where does Kiss the Dead rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Near the top. I NEVER buy an audiobook that I'm no pretty sure I'm going to love, so I have a lot of them kind of clumped together at the top of the list.

What did you like best about this story?

The action. The sex is fine, but this one has action like the early books and I really like that.

Which scene was your favorite?

Anita at dinner/lunch with the new marshall.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Just a couple of "fist punches" when the good guys took out the bad guys successfully.

Any additional comments?

I am really glad to see Hamilton back writing more action and less sex. The sex is fine, but it can get tiresome after so many pages. This is much better. Also, she seems to be, finally, handling Asher. I get tired of his whiny boy.

Yay

Kimberly Alexis is really the best narrator for this series. I live how she sounds as Jean Claude and that all of the men sound less feminine than Anita. My only issue is Micah...why does he have an Irish accent??

Now we are getting back on track!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

The series started out as very entertaining and then deviated... with the idea of plot becoming meaningless in the story. This book gets back on track and gives the reader a great story while still being very entertaining.

What other book might you compare Kiss the Dead to and why?

Kiss the Dead is more like the first four books in the series. It shows the relationship development's results that started in the first part of the series. It's kind of like when you wonder what might have happened to the characters after a series ended.

What does Kimberly Alexis bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The voices used by the narrator bring the book to life. You get a feel for Jean Claude and just know that Asher is pouty and childish sometimes.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

While the length of the book makes it hard to listen to in one sitting, I managed to listen to it over a 3 day period. Definitely entertaining!

kiss the dead.

excellent book. great addition to the series. I'm amazed at the people who want every book in a series to be exactly like the first one with no character development or growth. some just don't seem to except that because of the Aurora anita has been forced to grow emotionally and become more comfortable and accpting of her sexuality. it seems there are those still uncomfortable with their own that they don't want to read about it. I find it bizarre that some are more accpting of violence and gory murders in a story than any discussion of the exploration and self discovery of a characters sexuality. that can be the main focus of a plot just as much as the violence. Remember it's called Character Development. I enjoy that just as much as the paranormal crime fighting. Hamilton as created a world with depth, scope and detail from the characters to the universe they inhabit that is very rare. obviously for those who like static unchanging characters in a predictable and limited universe with out adult subjects being mentioned, then sadly this book series isn't for you.
