Publisher's Summary

Is he really a Viking with a vampire's bite? An angel with the body of a thunder god? A lone wolf with love on his mind?

Alexandra Kelly, his prey, thinks Vikar Sigurdsson is either flat-out crazy or he's trying to maneuver her into his bed - which is hardly where a professional reporter should conduct an interview, tempting as that prospect might be. Until Vikar does something a teensy bit unexpected, and Alex begins to wonder whether her mystery man could really be everything he says he is: a Viking vampire angel on a thousand-year-long mission with his pack of sinful brothers - and a man who's finally found the woman of his dreams. By then, Vikar is already wrapping his chiseled arms around Alex's body - and sinking his wicked fangs right into her neck. If this is sin, why does it feel so good? Contains mature themes.

Could not finish

It was just so very bad, I could not listen anymore. I almost always finish a book, but I just couldn't force myself to continue. It actually made me cringe. It was not the narrator's fault. She did a fine job. The story was just ridiculous!

so silly

it was ok..but so much emphasis on sinning and punishment has put me off of the series. I kept stopping the play and forgetting to go back because I was really not invested with the characters. The narrator was annoying in the female heoines voice, plus the heroine was irratating as well.
The humor was slapstick and I eye rolled many, many times.

wooden dialog, under-developed characters

What disappointed you about Kiss of Pride?

I had never read Sandra Hill, but I'm always looking for a series in which characters are well-developed and prose that is well-crafted. In this case the dialog was distractingly wooden, the attempt at archaic speech was awkward, and I never had an adequate sense that the supposedly damaged characters were continuing to struggle.

What was most disappointing about Sandra Hill’s story?

The dialog and superficial treatment of human psychology were equally disappointing.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

The performance was steady and crisp, but I had to really pay attention to who was stated to be speaking because I couldn't differentiate the characters through the reader's performance.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

The characterizations of how sinners are tortured was convincingly horrible.

Any additional comments?

I love a series and I'm disappointed that I will not be returning to this one.

Fun, sexy Angel-Vamp-Vikings

Narrator: Erin Bennett does a great job of it.

Always liked Sandra Hill's stories. In this one she mixes Angels, Vamps and Vikings and what a treat that is!

Though long at times and hard to follow at the beginning, I really liked it. There are a lot of characters in this one but once you get into it they don't really feel like intruders they are quite fun. Will surely get the next one.

This book has it all!

Would you listen to Kiss of Pride again? Why?

Sandra Hill is one of my most favored authors, and her books are so immersive I cant put it down! This is one audio book I will come back to for more!

What did you like best about this story?

She's got humor, action, horror, and lets not forget that sizzle *and oh boy does it sizzle (fans myself)* the way the narrator flows through the story makes sure that the listeners cant turn away!

Too preachy

Too heavy handed on the religion. I had hope when I saw the word "Viking," but no.

A childrens book with an adult twist, stupid

What would have made Kiss of Pride better?

too many charactors to relate to or follow

What do you think your next listen will be?

I stopped this one, am moving on to another series

How could the performance have been better?

I did not like the narrator at all, the voices she did was weird

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

for a few chapters I read, I was disappointed and un-interested turned it off an started to search for other books

Any additional comments?

I wish I could get my credit back.
