Publisher's summary

New York Times bestselling author Susan Mallery creates the small-town destination for romance in charming Fool's Gold, California - where a loner cowboy finds the one woman who can capture his heart.

After Phoebe Kitzke's kind heart gets her suspended from her job in LA, she swears off doing favors - until her best friend begs for help on the family ranch in Fool's Gold. Unfortunately, sexy cowboy Zane Nicholson isn't exactly thrilled by the city girl's arrival.

Thanks to his brother's latest scheme, Zane has been roped into taking tourists on a cattle drive. What Phoebe knows about ranching wouldn't fill his hat, but her laughter is so captivating that even his animals fall for her. One slip of his legendary control leads to a passionate kiss that convinces him she's exactly the kind of woman a single-minded loner needs to avoid.

In his arms, Phoebe discovers she's a country girl at heart. Yet no matter how much the small town feels like home, she can't stay unless Zane loves her, too...but is this cowboy interested in forever?

Sweet Cowboy Romance in a Fun Setting

What did you love best about Kiss Me?

I love the setting of being on a cattle drive. It took a nice spin on a cowboy romance story. I grew up around horses and with cowboys so they have a tender place in my heart too.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Phoebe has such a caring heart, with a little spunk, and quirk thrown in. Talking to the animals made me smile.

Which scene was your favorite?

Sooo many to pick from probably when she gets caught talking to the bull.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes and I have on more than one occasion. Whenever I need a simply, sweet, and feel good read it's one of my go to books. It's one of my go to cowboy books too. ;-)

Any additional comments?

Let me start out by saying I'm a hopeless romantic and adore a sweet love story. If you are wanting a complex plot and serious angst this isn't the story for you. Second this is part of a series but can be read as a stand alone.

There is excitement and quirky characters to keep your interest. There's great character development and reoccurring characters to fit with the series. It's my favorite Fool's Gold book I've read so far. I highly recommend it.

Disappointing

I have enjoyed the Fool's Gold series from the beginning. & always look forward to the next story. This one was a disappointment for me. I could never care about any of the. main characters & the plot is one of my least favorites.
H/H meet, fall in immediate lust, don't get along until they do , then decide it's true happy-ever-after love. all in about a week's time. uh uh. No! Plus, with the exception of a few FG characters showing up out of the blue, the town itself is nowhere to be seen. I'm sure many Susan Mallery fans will love this book.. I am a long -time fan myself , but this episode just didn't work for me. Sorry.

Decent storyline, but seriously whiney characters.

If this was not in a series that I love, then I would not recommend it. The storyline and the ideas have great possibilities... having characters whining for two thirds of book is just wearing.
